Yearly donation to turn on or turn off nets
Donate to reset back to zero every year
Donate and chuk gets as many negatives as positives were given out in his thread
I have discussed some interesting alternative and fun options for nets and he has brought up some flaws and also has stated that the end result is popular opinion wins. This is why someone like me or anyone else that comes in and tries to buy some community change won't be agreed to because the popular vote might swing it another way in a day or year or ten years.
Here are the concepts we are voting on right now.
1.) Yearly donation to turn on or turn off nets, whichever side raises the most wins for one year.
2.) Donate to reset back to zero every year. Bottom and top person in nets gets a title before reset, Asshat of the Year will be decided this way.
3.) Donate and chuk gets as many negatives as positives were given out in his netsmas thread.
4.) Nothing changes at all.
Option 1 and 4 don't have a lot of pitfalls. Sure if 1 happens somebody can hold it all hostage but if so they are spending money on a good cause. It is a con about that option though.
Option 2 and 3 bring some interesting dynamics to the table and they kind of center around one person. I want to toss this out there first before I explain. I don't have anything personal against Astr0creep. He is a moron but we have plenty that are worse than him. He is easy to poke at though.
Previously we had a nets system that was unlimited and per post. This was poorly implemented and you could game it pretty easy with a macro script that everyone called a "bot" but was just a macro to click the neg image on each post. We got rid of it specifcally because it was gamed. Any time you can game the system like that it needs to be fixed or gotten rid of. Why have it when it is flawed like it is? That is my current stance. So let's say that people agree on a yearly reset. That still doesn't change Astr0 coming along and doing a post reset "netsmas" like concept and game the system.
For option 3 it feels like we are singling one person out and no matter how stupid he is I don't think we need to do that but his yearly thread has gained some popularity and I think that as a result he should be prepared to take the bad with the good. It would be great fun. I am not sure if he would kill himself but I doubt he would. He might not do the netsmas thread ever again though.
This vote will be short because I am donating money by the end of the year. Tuco has suggested Doctors Without Borders and once I verify on whether over 50% of the money they bring in goes to the people and not administrative things like the scam that is breast cancer awareness I will donate to them this year.

It blows my mind that people get so worked up over nets
After the last go around and how Laissez-faire moderation is here, I think you're just going to see a repeating cycle regardless of what the Nets evolves into, even though I think it would be cool to turn the reset into a new tradition.
Until you work on core community issues, the community is always going to turn nets into one more troll mechanic (and no I don't think the SS porn is anywhere near a core community issue, even though the poll does highlight some in the thread itself). But this is what's left of the real community from FoH, so what do you do?
I don't understand why Suineg is so much against Tuconet Neutrality.
Izo rattin me THE FUCK out.
reset them every year. We can call it "Path to Zero Day" and IM each other pictures of our taint.
I'm pretty sure that's how Christmas got started.
remove nets thanks.
One day I hope to be as attractive and well spoken as Tuco!
