I watch it. I think I bumped the old thread a bit ago. It's great. More people should check it out.
I forgot all about this show and last night found out we're already a few episodes in. Season 1 is the shit. Looking forward to this.
The first episode is definitely the best. DO BUTT STUFF!
i wish the characters would continue to be terrible, terrible people instead of learning lessons and trying to be better people
Holy shit this show is fantastic! I happened upon the old thread a couple weeks ago, and the wife and I powered through the first season in a couple days.
So far season 2 picks up the hilarity right where season 1 left off.
I watched all of season 1 and part of season 2 this week. It's a pretty good show, not one I'd specifically DVR or anything, but definitely above most of the garbage. Honestly I think Edgar and the rapper are the best characters. The rapper has that Tracy Jordan vibe from 30 Rock and Edgar is like a more humble Charlie Kelly from It's Always Sunny.
Sometimes I'm pretty dense, but what was with her sneaking out? She doesn't have an apartment to go back to anymore since she burned it down, and she's not cheating on him, but it had the feel like it was a bad thing. What am I missing?
Same with the improv guy texting on Edgar's phone. It actually seemed like his text was helpful in that Edgar got to stay with the improv girl instead of worrying about Chunky McBraceface, but improv guy seemed a little miffed to be pushed out of the conversation too, so why would he help?
I don't remember drinking when I watched it last night, maybe I'm just dumb
The improv guy was thinking he was slick by turning down what is a sure fire booty text "You up?", but really he saved Edgar from the blackhole of dong swallowing that is Heather.
I think you mean Lindsey. Don't know who Heather is
I don't think she's cheating. They want us to think that. Obviously he is curious if she is, and, if not, what she is doing that she doesn't want him to know about. So now he's going to be trying to figure out what she's doing without giving it away and/or he'll go do something revenge-ish on the premise that she is cheating and find out he was wrong. I definitely think cheating is something they'll go for eventually, but it seems too weak to do it this quickly.
she's doing volunteer work at an african aids hospice
I think it was funny how Jimmy walked away completely happy that she wasn't cheating while she's having a breakdown.
Man, just started watching this - it's like Sunny attitude in a rom-com, it's awesome.
Married (had Judy Greer on it) got cancelled, no word yet on YTW but the FX president likes the show and said it will probably get renewed since it has critical acclaim

some interesting new shows from Bill Burr and Dong lover
Sooo... Lindsey's body in this latest episode... making me feel things. Curvy lady thread, perhaps?
Thanks rerolled for leading me to this show. It's fucking fantastic.
halloween episode was fantastic. there are apparently halloween haunted houses that are just as insane as on the episode

Damn that episode was heavy. This show took a turn.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. If you compare where the show is now, with where it started in Season 1, it has definitely taken an interesting turn. Sorta curious to see where they decide to take it from here. Obviously they couldn't keep up with all the same shenanigans from Season 1 though.
I thought for sure that Gretchen wanted to fuck the husband to poison that dream life she had imagined. Did I totally misinterpret that or did she just not do it because he turned out to be an asshole too?
It needs to get less sad.
They do a good enough job with having the B story of episodes keep it somewhat funny. The feud stuff with Sam and his boys, then them getting shitstomped by some chicks. Or the mouse stuff in the marathon episode when Gretchen's depression first became a real focus. Their method of execution there was one of the funniest things evAR.
I really liked that finale. The bathroom scene was hilarious.
Those smiles at the end made everything worthwhile.
I find myself genuinely wanting these two assholes to work shit out and just be happy together more than I ever have for any other TV couple I think.
When she broke down after "You stayed?" "Yeah" it felt like a huge, cathartic, win.
The whole final episode was like a victory lap to me. Like, we did it now let's watch Level 3 Jimmy and Vernon and his trash juice send us on our way. And it was all great.
Haha, I want to try that trash juice.
And yeah, the "You stayed" scene hit me in the feels, it was a damn good scene and while I questioned how dark shit got with the depression, the pay off at the end was awesome and well worth it.
The whole "I love you too" thing...I feel like a chick but I was super happy to see/hear that happen.
Lots up int he air next season. Lindsay and Pauls relationship trying to work out and seeing if Lindsay really can grow up. Vernon and Becca's fucked up roller coaster of awesomeness to start things off. This is probably in my top 5 for shows on TV, #2....in terms of comedy, very closely behind Silicon Valley.
