damn kythik beat to me it.
Im just happy to see space ship based shows being produced at all at this point , Watched the pilot . seems fun , will watch
I doubt it's in the same universe are Dark Matter now that an actor was in both of the shows tonight in two completely different roles.
I liked dark matter better, but this one is ok. The main guy is a problem though, he was the worst character on warehouse13 and I can't shake that memory. Chick is super hot though.
The older guy was the leader type guy in Dark Matter, and one the guy who seemingly gave her an anti-toxin in Killjoys. Rob Stewart - IMDb
Yeah, it was ok, but not as good as Dark Matter. Created and written by the same chick who did Lost Girl.
An interesting bit of trivia, main chick does voice work for Dark Souls 1 and 2, she was the voice of Lord's Blade Ciarin in DS1.
I think I actually liked Killjoys a bit more than Dark Matter. I don't expect either to be a particularly deep or well crafted, but Killjoys was more fun and progressed faster. Dark matter has the better premise, but felt more plodding and like they were trying to take things very seriously, but are they going to have the production value to deliver on the drama? Killjoys may get too formulaic, though, if they don't keep the story unfolding and reduce it to a bounty-of-the-week format, but they're setting up more important events and action, so it's just as promising.
Will watch both, though, no matter how bad they get. (fact)
I enjoyed this, I'm actually enjoying the entirety of SyFy Friday. Good to see them recoverig their way
Two actual fun and watchable science fiction shows on the syfy network the end is neigh.
not bad, i like dark matter a touch more than this show so far but both are great 90s throwback SyFy shows. It is funny how much they resemble each other though, wonder how that happened and if only one will survive. It is hilarious in both shows that all human worlds are basically 2010 Vancouver warehouse districts.
The younger guy on this show was on warehouse 13 I think as Jinx, although the RL actor has a twin I think so maybe its him. I'm too lazy/uncaring to find out. The female leads on this and Dark Matter are both awesome.
Both are kinda cheesy at times with cliches and shaky acting: basically exactly what we can expect. Killjoys is fun, though. Sometimes stupid, silly fun, but fun. The actors may not be great alone, but have pretty solid chemistry that comes through.
I just can't get into Ashmore's character. He really distracts me from the show for whatever reason.
Probably because he was cast as a sort of doppleganger Starlord ;p
Have never paid enough attention to any of the other shows any of these actors were in... so that's a benefit as they're all new to me :P
Enjoyed the newest episode , Big fan of episodes that exist in a bottle , reminds me of bebop
ok this may be legit my new favorite show, they are doing an awesome job creating an immersive universe that is different and interesting
Anthony Bourdain is scary as fuck, what is he an android or highlander
Fucking love this show.
I love this show too, as well as Dark Matter. I need the hot doctor to be ok though, because she's a very nice addition to the show.
I'm really liking this more than I thought I would and feel it actually has some legs to be long-term interesting. Yeah, it's a mission of the week procedural, but the actors have chemistry, the production is pretty tight, and they're still consistently touching on the background stories and not just abandoning them for self-contained filler episodes. Maybe I'm just easy because I love sci-fi and want to see the channel succeed in their return to it.
Ya, I thought I would like Killjoys the least but I actually like it the most, right after Defiance.
Dutch can give me a dutch oven any time.
Also like how they don't constantly drop into cliche scifi tropes, like having the hot doctor be cured of her addiction by johnny - nope, she's addicted for life bitches. Or Johnny and GenericBrother not patching things up right away.
really all the women on this show are pretty goddamn awesome, i'd wander around in some black rain for a date with dutch. This is the new show you can point to when some blue hair SJW weirdo says "there are no good women in scifi"
"I am *done* fixing things"
Heh, didn't know the actor had it in him. Almost forgiven for most of warehouse13.
This really has surprised me as well. I thought it would just be some nice space opera fluff, but the characterization has been quite good and the development of the secondary characters / setting is proceeding nicely. I especially enjoy that outside of the occasional exposition to Gavin (who is new to the Quad) they don't talk to the audience to explain how the political structure of the quad works. It is also interesting that there is clearly a much bigger world out there (none of the main characters is native to the Quad) but we are still just seeing everything take place on these four planets.
Just got caught up with this. I did not care for the way it started off too much, and the sound mixing and video editing was annoying. I am now hooked. I also like that there seems to be a larger everything. This show could be a very fun ride if they keep it up.
I have a feeling that dude will end up being Dutch's father or a relative.
i think evil anthony bourdain is an AI trying to keep humanity alive
i enjoy the little glimpses into the larger universe, the RAC seems like weyland yutani corporation
really glad they didn't go with the cheesy "... I am your father"

according to the creator they have not been renewed yet, but syfy said they wouldn't say until around this time.
also they would like to do a crossover with dark matter, but nothing has been talked about.
I'd like to do a crossover with Dark Matter. As in, me and the two weirdly hot chicks from both shows. Naked.
I like that they are giving the Painkiller Jane actors some work. Khlyen is from there, and the Rat King from this episode was as well. I don't know if Kristanna Loken would do these anymore, but I'd love to see her.
Season Finale Spoilers Michelle Lovretta Interview - Hollywood Reporter
good season and show, i went back and looked at the last few seconds. it looks like level sixes have an extra, possibly alien (green) base inserted into the double strands. i guess that makes them semi super human.
the 4th moon/planet is where red 17 is housed and was a terraform attempt gone bad. the base itself is on a giant crater with a similar green glowy thing going on. Hope it gets renewed and they continue on. Love the two main actors, the doctor, gay bartender, sexy priest and evil Anthony Bourdain, not so much the goofy Rock McBeefSlab older brother.
Ya, I like the series and would definitely like to see a 2nd season.
It amused me if you look at the beginning of the season the commercials were "You just watched Dark Matters - watch Killjoys too" - and for this last episode at least (if it happened sooner I missed it) - they had a "Stay tuned for Dark Matters after Killjoys" commercial.
Felt like they acknowledged which was the better show by that.
I like both shows, but I tend to prioritize Killjoys and I watch Dark Matter on DVR more often than not.
don't know if it counts for anything, but been watching both with the syfy app on xbox.
I like them both, and just watch whichever one I feel like first. I hope they both continue for multiple seasons.
Only watched one episode and I already like it. I like the two leads and it's always good to see Rob Stewart even tho he's prolly just a side character.
We all sort of knew that Arkyn was going to have some sort of horrible secret behind it. They did do a good job though of misdirection about simply not referring to Arlyn for a good chunk of the season.
Still very impressed by the show, I feel it has sort of a Babylon5 feel in that it starts out with a bunch of seemingly unrelated generic sci-fi stuff but that is just an excuse to dig into the characters and set up the world.
Renewed for Season 2
sweet, also dark matters got renewed. no word on defiance
Im guessing this means that Defiance is done for, glad that both Killjoys and Dark Matter made it though
I will be a bit sad if defiance does not continue but the season finale is a perfectly fine series finale. It wrapped up a bunch of loose ends and nathan is out exploring the universe in a space ship something he wanted to do since he first saw the alien ships.
I don't think Defiance is 100% done for. My bets are on either cancellation or they will do a half-season like they did for Being Human and Haven.
Killjoys and Dark Matter return on July 1st
Killjoys is the far better of the two, but I'll watch both.
Not much more than a teaser, but very much looking forward to this summer distraction.
Good start for the season, giving it a more of a longer ranging plot and adding new characters. It seems the budget on this show has gone up, there looks to be a lot more cgi.
"It's better to look ugly and win, than pretty and lose."
Holy shit they took the terribleness of the first season into and turned it up to 11.
Kinda like the new character, hope she will be a regular.
She had a very Amy Acker thing going on which was a very hot thing.
the idea of a detachable remote control arm just opens up a whole new sexual frontier
show is still goofy as hell, don't really see an upgrade in production yet especially with the really bad CGI ship landing or Canadian offices doubling as remote science bases. Still, its kitschy and over the top in a fun way. The mad max oil rag set was crazy, wonder where that got filmed.
The modified girl was the little irathian girl from defiance, right? Nolan's daughter.
There is no way she is a one-off character. Especially given the arm/backstory/interaction with the ship etc.
Everytime I think this show has set up a new status quo they go and shake things up. I do like how unpredictable many of the overarching plot points have been, I just hope that the eventual mystery of the Quad is worth all these layers of conspiracy.
The show has some interesting twists. I forgot I purchased season one last year so finally got around to watching it. Caught up on season two. It started out a little wonky overall. But I think it got better as the story progressed. For Syfy TV it's pretty good IMO.
