Would love to see FNM again. No shows even remotely close to me, though.
Are you still with the girl who has family in Niagara?
Toronto shows, nigga!
I have a ton of credit card points right now... might make a vacation to go see them in Portland or LA or both, and then see them again in NYC
Edit: And luckily if you can't make any shows... in this internet age you can find a lot of their "new" shows online even in 720. Download Festival is one of my favorites. There's also one where they brought back Chuck Mosely for a few songs, and he didn't even fall asleep while he was singing!

Fuck, expensive ass tickets. Detroit show is like $170 per ticket for mezzanine. I also heard there might be a new album coming in the future.
Damn, son, where have I been?
Another single is getting release in March with the album coming out in early May.
Dont know why I was so nervous, didnt want to miss this show, but I scored my two tics in Chicago. Wouldnt be surprised if they play Riot Fest this year either.
Roddy hinted that there will be another leg of US tour after all the festival stuff in Europe, but ya, they play huge venues outside of the US and make a whole lot more money doing it.
Looks like I'm hitting Seattle, both LA, and Santa Ana. The SA venue is tiny, saw Tomahawk there last year and it was awesome.
christ the SA show sold out in less than 10 minutes. Locked down the rest, hopefully there are more tickets available friday for general public
10am for general sales on Friday, be ready!

Starting a three night run tonight. Getting rave reviews so far from each show.
Good times last night in Chicago, tonight's show is streaming live from Detroit on yahoo
It's delicious...different than any other FNM album but familiar. Was anxious to hear it on album after hearing most of it live. Love it. Wierdest part for me was it not starting with a slam like every other FNM album, this one goes in gentle.
p.s Separation Anxiety...holy balls wow

Of the new songs not previously released digging Rise of the Fall as well.
The bastards are on Fallon tonight. Probably be Superhero, I don't think Motherfucker is feasable.
I don't have the sauce handy but there's a fantastic interview in Rolling Stone that explains the breakup and reunion. I consider myself to be a FnM expert and I didn't know half the shit in the article. They've really ditched the "let's bs everyone for fun" persona and grew up.
edit: The new "new" song was a joke FnM pulled after someone posted this shred video claiming it was a terrible new song

its about to go on here, hoping for separation anxiety but I know it wont be. So happy they are getting some recognition again.
extra song, Easy.
still think if they had played Separation Anxiety it would have wrinkled peoples fucking brains but I get it. Sometimes I think I'm living a dream and its not possible my favorite band is actually putting out this album and are on the tonight show. Fallon seemed really fucking pumped to have them on the show. Pretty cool.
I thought they nailed Super Hero...thought it was better than the recorded version
Album is finally out, its so good. Still getting rocked by the middle section. So good.
tracks 4 5 6 for me. Cone of shame has the most Tomahawk sound for me. Separation Anxiety is, for me, the most FNM sounding of all the songs on the album with the sheer amount of menace and darkness underneath everything. Billy is fucking killing it on bass and not even playing anything that hard, but its just so awesome. Makes me think of songs like Cuckoo for Caca and Ugly in the Morning, and Jizzlobber though it doesn't sound like any of those. The slow grower for me is Rise of the Fall (this one is the most Bungle song, for me), its going to be the RV or Caralho Voador of this album where it takes a bit but ends up being one of the best just because its so out there.
p.s. I realize how stupid it is to compare FNM songs to associated bands. FNM for me has always been the core of this "alternative metal" sound. But there are definitely leanings in certain directions from this band that lend to the "sound" of associated bands. Just absolutely fucking thrilled that this band put out an album full of songs that sound great, move forward, and mean something 18 years after blowing up. I streamed this album over the PA at work the other night after hours and half my crew came up at some point and gave me the "what in the fuck was that" reaction in a good way.

I still can't get past around 1 minute into Superhero. It's "Rape this Day" by Tomahawk
Album is getting mostly positive reviews. 82 on Metacritic right now.
As a fan since the first EP, I can't get enough of this album.

Looks like they are hitting the festival tour this summer including Chicago's riot fest
They played with Metallica tonight in Munich. Waiting for an upload on the off chance Jim Martin came out.

I would have given Mosley coming out on stage about the same chance as Jim Martin in the 90s. Now Patton bows out and lets him sing a few songs here and there when they're in his area. But Martin? Still bitter, I guess. Just one last time Jim, give us War Pigs and Surprise. You're dead!.
edit: A little background for those that don't know...it's a good read if you're a fan of music.

i was at work and missed the window by a few minutes. bummer. last time I saw them in a place that small was on the Real Thing tour, what a great show it will be for those who lucked out.
I saw them at the 530 club in DC which seemed pretty small for a concert (although I never did many concerts, so only really familiar with it and Merryweather which was one of the biggest, if not the biggest, in MD) the one and only time I saw them during Angel Dust.
I saw them at the Ventura theatre back then, it holds around 1000 now but I believe its been totally remodeled since to increase capacity. That show didn't sell out as I recall, we got tickets the day of show. Last nights show I think the capacity is under 500, crazy. Although now that I checked, the show at the Observatory in Santa Ana this year had an under 500 capacity, less than I thought it was while at the show.
