I don't know if the win of KH outweighs the general not win of WF
Alison Brie though...mmmmmm.
Kevin Hart's comedy has become to much lately. He's taken the KH character to far IMO. Needs to tone down on the stupidity and over exaggeration coz his original stands ups are funny as shit.
Kevin Hart did a set at Patrice O'Neal's funeral. I was there (Patrice was my favorite comic) and got to meet a lot of really big comics as a result. Fucking Patrice though... that magnificent fat bastard should have taken better care of himself.
Yeah, I like Ferrell quite a bit more than Hart.
Night at the Roxbury, Zoolander, Anchorman, Ricky Bobby, Old School, Elf, Stranger than Fiction, Semi-Pro, Blades of Glory, Land of the Lost, The Other Guys, Megamind
Um...Soul Plane? Was Ride Along any good?
Ride along was not any good. Soul plane is another good example. I guess he's really good as long as he's not the only one being funny. So he should be fine in this movie.
Speaking of Will Ferrell, what's your favorite movie of his?
Mine is an odd choice. Stranger than Fiction. It's a different type of story, and I really like it for that reason.
I really hate to go so mainstream, but it's hard for me to turn Stepbrothers off if I randomly find it playing on FX or whatever. That said the scene with the dart in Old School and the character he played in wedding crashers were very memorable for me.
other guys was great and i cant stand marky mark. Harts best thing in a movie/tv show was prolly his cameo on party down
Oh shit, you're right. Other Guys was a really good comedy with just enough serious. They had The Rock going full retard, and that was funny.
Another stereotypical movie only this time drawn off of the evil white man, and the uncle tom black man who is secretly pretending to be a thug. Looks as if Anchorman 2 and The Interview fucked and then had to have an abortion this would be that. This is on Elf level stupid.
Will is becoming Adam Sandler, and Kevin Heart just isn't funny in movies.
Will isn't Sandler level of phoning it in. Ferrell at least pretends to try, even when he isn't. And I do think that, not always, he usually is trying to make something decent. Sandler straight up doesn't give a damn. It's just that will doesn't have the wit that Phil Hartman had but his humor is following a similar evolution. You have to believe that the guy is actually smart for those jokes to work, the joke is being dumb in a smart way and it always has been... or at least that he knows he's being dumb. Otherwise it's just a dumb guy being dumb.
He's hit and miss. Most of these guys don't even bother to take a swing anymore, so at least Ferrell has that much going for him.
Didnt know this was a hard R, looks watchable after seeing the redband trailer
I had a WTF moment at the end of this trailer, but I guess it's pretty easy to confuse Etan Cohen with Ethan Coen.
Saw it last night. Funniest fucking movie I have seen in a very long time.
Trailers don't do it justice. See it.
Interdasting. Wife's cow-orkers are telling her it's a pile of garbage. Anyone else got opinions?
Shit. This doesn't pass the "wife's co-workers" test?!
so is this like Big Stan
or is it like The New Guy
I would pay to go see Will Farrell be a patriot and suck a cock. I'm a true American hero, sucking cocks down to zero.
I can't think of a bad will ferrell movie off the top of my head. The closest I can come up with would be movies where he played a bit part like zoolander.
You liked Semi-Pro? And wasn't he the main in some terrible kids movie about dinosaurs or some other lost world nonsense?
I liked him in the Campaign, Old School, Step Brothers and that horrible Blades of Glory movie for some reason. I also loved him on SNL. The rest of the movies he did I did not enjoy.
The only thing worse than a Will Farrell movie is a Will Farrell movie with Kevin Hart in it. Give will random cameos in movies and it rocks, just don't give him 2 hrs to shit up a movie.
"I want to watch Semi Pro" said no one ever.
Semi-Pro and Land of the Lost were both amazing. You guys look so stupid right now.
Semi-Pro has great bits. If you watch the poker table scene and don't laugh you're the problem, not the movie. Land of the Lost had some funny stuff too, but the story/setting were just weird as fuck if you weren't a TV watcher. His worst movies are obviously Bewitched and Kicking and Screaming. Maybe Night at the Roxbury.
Then I guess you enjoy watching shit. Do you sit at your toilet and laugh as its swirling around?
I could agree on The Other Guys, but Elf? Come the fuck on lol.
Pretty good movie. They don't even say "nigger" a thousand times like everyone is probably expecting after some SJW reviews. Will Ferrell never says it, in fact. Definitely some good laffles and classic Ferrell shit. Hart was actually pretty good and they had good chemistry. You can tell in a lot of scenes one of them is stifling a smile while the other one is saying shit. They're paaaaaaaallllllssss!
Alison Brie is in lingerie for like 5 minutes in the first 10 minutes. Buy a 10 dollar ticket, watch that part, and leave and you'd still come out ahead. Talk about "Get Hard". HEYOOOOOOOO
christ, you guys crawl up my ass because of some of the films i pan, but you gotta be a goddamn communist if you dont like Elf. the movie is gold just for blonde Zoey Deschanel and the scene with Peter Dinklage..
ferrell is probably the best comedy actor in the last 10 years, he has some bombs but the majority of his films are fun as hell to watch. i even paid to see Blades of Glory in the theater and i enjoyed it. land of the lost is simply terrible though. no way around that.
Step Brothers is still probably my favorite comedy from the past few years. Funniest movie I have seen in a long time.
I love Will Ferrell. Anchor Man is one of the greatest comedies of all time. Step Brothers is equally as good, and even Talladega Nights is pretty god damn funny. Just haven't found any of his more recent movies very funny at all. The Other Guys had funny scenes, but not a great overall movie. And Elf was a good movie. Just think he may have hit his peak with Step Brothers, and is now on the downward side of the slope.
I will pick Will over Jim Carrey any day though.
Anyone who doesn't like Zoolander is a communist. Also, I agree with Chuk about the cameo stuff. A cameo would be like his appearance in Wedding Crashers, where he's only in the movie for less than ten minutes.
I think darth vader was on screen less in star wars than ferrell was in zoolander.
Most of the Will Ferrell movies that I don't enjoy are due to the other people and not due to Ferrell. Land of the Lost, Blades of Glory, Step Brothers are 3 of my least favorites but I still laughed at most of Ferrell's parts.
I feel like people either didn't watch Land of the Lost or just didn't understand what it was going in. That shit is hilarious. Danny McBride tossing out hilarious throwaway one-liners left and right and it's all one big surreal funny as hell trip. Helps too of course if you appreciate the source material, but it's hardly necessary.
I watched the original show. The problem with the movie was the fact that it was horrible. There's a reason it's one of the biggest box office bombs of all time.
Oh that's always a good argument. I guess Scott Pilgrim sucked too!
Anyway, how was Get Hard from someone who has a decent sense of humor?
Watched it with the wife and really enjoyed it. It's about what you come to expect from a Will Ferrell comedy, maybe even a little better because you see some character development on Will's part.
It didn't have some dumb ass romantic sub-plot either.
Bottom line: It's not nearly as bad as people imagine it will be.
You can say that about almost anything. Knight Rider was not a good show.
Well, you can be forgiven for liking it as a 7 year old. Hell when I was that age my favorite show was The Dukes of Hazard and I remember being dumbfounded when it was canceled because why would they cancel the best show on television?
Kevin Hart might be the least funny man in America.
