Three on a Match
How many episodes to get to 10 deaths this year? 1 or 2?
think they pretty much killed everyone off last season.
last season was a bit weak but still a great show.
As much as I like Boyd, I don't really care for Boyd vs. Raylan being the constant of the show. And why would Ava want to burn Raylan? I guess since it's the last season they want to go out on a climax, but I just don't think Boyd or Ava matter that much to Raylan, and focusing on him is more interesting to me. I like it when Raylan interacts with law enforcement nearby that haven't met him. The friction is entertaining.
I think the three on a match trailer might be more trying to signify that she's simply fed up with both of them trying to "save" her and ready to handle her own shit. Since they both apparently were going into the house to find/save her and she locks them both in.
This starts on Tuesday!
Can't wait.“How about I put a little hitch in that Gary Cooper walk?”
is this the final-final season or are they doing that half season shit
only 13 episodes, don't think justified takes off any time.
what i gather they have already finished filming up to 10.
Starts tomorrow bros. Thank god since I am home at 5:00 now because it gets dark so early and there hasn't been shit to watch since before Christmas. I am just finishing rewatching Deadwood so my Tim Olyphant boner is fully engorged. And yeah I think only AMC has done that half season bullshit. FX has not yet sunk to that level?
Does anyone think Raylan is going to get killed this season? I hope not but with his attitude I can totally see it happening.
Thanks for the heads up about tommorrow, always forget this show starts early in the year heh.
Well I did not see that coming.
I love this show. I wish I were one tenth as cool as Raylan.
someone posted this on reddit, from last year, never knew he was Australian
Seeing Dewey like that is bizarre. My mind can't see that face and hear that accent and actual intelligent thought.
oderint dum metuant
I'm preemptively worried about Dillahunt's character's motivation.
I sure hope they aren't going down the "Arlo's Buried Treasure" route AGAIN.
"I'm hungry enough to eat the ass out of a low flying duck".
"Halt! US Marshal's Service!"
Love the dialog in this show. I don't know what Garret Dillahunt's going to be doing, but him on any show can only be a good thing. I enjoyed the premier very much. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
NOOOOO not the old yeller treatment Boyd you bastard.
Choochoo wtf hah, decent episode, not sure if I liked it more than the premiere.
also wtf is with Dillahunts neck?

His neck did seem very red and yeah I loved choochoo

I'm not following you.
Im just waiting for Dillahunts calm ass to turn into a badass. Good solid episode, really enjoying the Sam Elliot and Dillahunt addition. Not sure how I feel about this being the final season

I wish I could communicate like these characters. Even choo choo.
Yeah, after last season I thought it was a good thing the show was headed out. Last season was kind of weak, still good TV but weak. This season, so far, has been amazing (And everything about it seems stepped up a notch. Tons of great tacking shots, excellent dialogue, more interesting characters ect.). Makes me sad it's gonna be over.
Sam Elliot and Dillahunt are both great. "I am just a weather vane. I don't make the wind blow".
Choo choo is pretty cool as well. He was super creepy when he found Ava in the bank vault. You really got the sense that she shot to the top of his "Things Choo Choo wants to rape" list.

Yeah, still trying to mentally adjust to Sam Elliot without that insane stache. But love the set up so far this season.
Also, I have noticed whenever I watch a lot of Justified I keep slipping into talking like Boyd and it's pissing off my wife.
Oh, if any of you are in or around Dallas and care. Apparently one of the writers for the show is a BIG fan of the Ticket which is the local sports radio talk station here. So many references where he names characters after people on that station and/or uses lines from the stations drop list. It's amusing to find them as easter eggs. This year so far the name of Dillahunt's character is the name of one of the board operators, and when he was intimidating the banker with "What about eggs!?" is also a drop.
The vault cracker scene was the first time I've laughed out loud at a show in a long time.
Haha wtf, didnt think Jake Busey was going to go out that fast
marathoned through the new season, pretty good but Ava pretty much sucks now (she used to be cool) and Boyd and Raylan have gotten a bit boring. Bad guys are cool I guess but this is like the third or fourth season where you have "outsiders roll in, think all the locals are retarded redneck hillbillies, get their shit pushed in". I guess Sam is sorta not an outsider but feels like it. And yeah him without his famous mustache is just super weird.
Crazy to think there are still 8 more episodes, story seems kinda stuck in neutral. Hope the story doesn't go into the predictable route of bad guys kidnapping Raylan's baby/ex-wife to make him do stuff.
I think more than the usual "outsiders roll in" angle, they're running for the "Boyd thinks he's the big bad wolf, until the big bad wolf shows up" angle...
I really hope the show ends with Raylan and Boyd uneasily accepting one another as they take down Markum. I don't want a repeat of Shane. Boyd is just too damn awesome to go out any other way than on top.
And then the final scene is Boyd patching up Walter White, curing his cancer, and starting a meth/pot empire together.
I also think that they will have that moment when Raylan and the Marshalls/USAA have to make the call to go after the bigger evil even if it means not having the RICO case against Boyd.
Or they could make the story come full circle and have Raylan kill Boyd like was supposed to happen in the first ep.
I really liked this episode. Sad end for Choo choo but they really made him a sympathetic character and it's interesting to see the mercenaries realize that they are in over their head after it's too late. I wonder what Ava's uncle has up his sleeve.
lawnmower man is getting his revenge on them duke boys
it is a bit weird, he obviously doesn't mean to kill boyd right away i guess he wants all the money and this is play into making boyd trust him
that is also the least hooker looking hooker i have ever seen
Yeah, they did a good job making Choo Choo a character you actually liked in a way. Probably in order to help cement the fact that the others in his crew are genuine bad guys. As for the hooker? Meh, i've seen better and worse...
Limehouse you squirelly mf. Gotta move the plot along I guess
I think he didn't want to have to kill the other guy. But, when push came to shove (lol) he did what he had to do.
Probably changed his mind a little about Boyd, after talking to Ava, but still didn't want to get found out and killed.
Lol, he did not change his mind.
Sure. He wants to get at the money first, which will end with him being shot, when they get to the safe.
Go watch the scene again. Start up at where he says "Hey Boyd, let's top off the oil, go grab that oil can that I conveniently placed on the other side of those boards I sawed through."
He wants to kill Boyd, and make it look like an accident. He did not want to kill the other dude, and only did so to keep him from telling Boyd about the boards. There was no point where he changed his mind about killing Boyd. He doesn't care about the money.
Really feel like they could have done a much better job with Walters/Dilahunts character, seemed really wasted. Guess I just assumed his character would be more of a badass, definitely didnt act like ex special forces or anything and was kind of an idiot
yeah i thought he was going a bigger story, as much time was spent on him the resolve was let down.
Its pretty ridiculous Sam Elliots character hired about the dumbest group of Mercs. Doesnt make sense for his character to hire a bunch of dipshits
i can not remember raylan's quote, but he explained it when talking to sam.
they are great at killing, but not crime stuff
To be fair, the amount of criminals Raylan and Tim have killed easily make them the highest level marshals in the country. It's very hard to hire high level mercs. Normally you need to level up your own dudes.
Yeah I actually liked the way that the mercs totally failed. I don't doubt that they are great soldiers, but Raylan was correct in saying that they incorrectly assumed that their badassedness would translate to being criminals but it didn't at all since the two things really have next to nothing to do with each other.
"You shot me in the back!"
"You wanted to get hit in the front, you should've run toward me."
Gonna miss this show.
Holy shit im an idiot, I just realized Steve from american dad has been on this season wtf. All season I kept thinking he looked familiar but I didnt think about it much

^ mind blown
as always the raylan vs. boyd scenes were the best, they really need a devils threesome with ava before the series ends. I thought it was a lot more than $10m in the vault, but that whole vault thing is just as stupid as the merc army, shit sam elliot its 2015 diversify yo assets nigga. this is uncle scrooge levels of weirdness at this point on the money, but I guess you just gotta chuck that up to some weird cash is king syndrome for old redneck drug dealers.
the arlo stuff was weird too seemed out of left field, glad they brought the actor back tho
Well, if you watched breaking bad you know that you can't just take all of your drug lord cash to Merrill Lynch. That vault is a hell of a lot safer than Walt's storage locker or the crawlspace under his house.
The cash is specifically there and in cash to quickly buy out rednecks from their property and they need a decent amount but more than $10M would just be stupid for the TV show. The cash is not that bad of a plot mechanic.
oderint dum metuant
if markham was using bitcoin he wouldn't have these problems
of course his fortune would rise and fall by 75% every day
rattlesnake dude is weird, kinda lame they keep bringing in a parade of bad guys every few episodes. shoulda just stuck with blackwater and them go more and more native/kurtz. disappointed loretta didn't do some targeted poisoning, didn't you learn anything from margo?
Looking like the noose is tightening around Boyd, but I don't wanna believe. I want him to go on to rule Harlan then someday sell me some good, legal shit...Not that skank bud that you get from your dealer.
I don't get Boyd's actions, honestly. He's always been practical, not stupid. The moment Loretta walked in and offered him a piece of a multimillion dollar business, in exchange for connections only he can muster? He could have just asked for a 20% equity and been set for life (In exchange he'd handle distribution, muscle and the pressure for the original property purchases). That was, in essence, what he wanted at one point--to grow weed in Harlan. This would allow him to profit from a potentially big organization, with an expert ensuring pretty large yields.
Give Markum's need for muscle and distribution/oversight, it's obvious Loretta REALLY needs him. I don't think she would have been adverse to giving him a minor partnership. Seems silly for him to keep charging after that money, especially given how smart Boyd has always been in the past.

The main problem with Boyd just taking Loretta up on her deal is that it would require throwing Ava under the bus. If she doesn't help them indite Boyd, (or run away/go into hiding) she goes back to jail.
I think Boyd is still planning on running away with Ava and whatever he says/does with Loretta is going to be over once he leaves but he will do what he can to make her a bigger pain in the ass to Avery Malcom before he goes.
It's kind of funny that Raylan had the perfect trap set for Boyd and was all ready to spring it but the only thing that saved Boyd was that he fucked up his heist but he doesn't know it saved him. I think Boyd is getting sloppy because he knows he's going to lose Ava and possibly go to jail if he doesn't get his exit but he's too greedy to go with the chance of a big score sitting there.
The thing with Loretta was kind of cool but it seems like a bit of a stretch to me that a young girl would have that much balls or business sense. It doesn't help that she looks 13 even though the actress is 18.

Well she has been in the weed business all her life and her dad was clearly not the brains of that family so I am guessing she has been pretty hands on in the weed business end of things most of her life. The locals in that pizza place know this as well so when she talks they know she is just telling the truth.
I should say that Kaitlyn Denver is a really great actor for how young she is. I bet she is going to be the next Jennifer Lawrence.
RIP you lovely man.
Fuck me for clicking on this thread! Havnt seen the episode but you knew that was comming
Boyd is definitely not dead.
btw. Confirmed spoilers about Boyd.

Boyd going out like that would be terrible, glad hes not dead
don't understand why markhum would pay for her and why didn't boyd just kill them both.
if boon ends up killing raylan, someone will have to punch yost in the dick
I forgot to mention, last episode was great. One of my favorite in a while
goddamn ava is a badass beast bitch, did not see that coming AT ALL
i expected markham to have a bomb in the bags and for him to shoot katherine in cold blood in front of boyd
why did he kill the grand-aunt of the young chick? I doubt she gives a shit, didn't get that part
Cletus McPedo is still a terrible character
You talking about Boon? Im eagerly waiting for Ray to put him down
Justified was amazing today. Things are really coming to a head . I wonder if Raylan will be hung out to dry over the money.
could understand, the shitstorm over the money if it was stolen from the marshals on their watch, but markham paid a random with it without their knowledge.
did i miss something about markham and marshals after the exchange?
the Wynn Duffy, Mikey and Katherine scene was epic.
Boyd is a dick
if raylan makes it to the end, last thing he needs to do is punch the ADA on his way out.
God mikey is going to enjoy his mead in valhalla after that fight he went down like a damn viking.
I assume Raylan had to report it all.
You know what Wynn Duffy always said "Mikey is a badass."
That was a great episode and Boyd is definitely a dick.
BTW I forgot to post it last week but I heard Graham Yost interviewed on "Fresh Air" and he explained why Markum had so much cash on hand. Apparently because of federal marijuana laws banks are under pressure from the FDIC to not take money from legal pot dealers so those guys have literally been keeping massive amounts of cash in safes and paying their taxes with grocery bags full of $20 bills. Pretty wacky stuff.
constable bob kills boon with the tazer. fatal heart defect.
goddamn it loretta this is like the 70th time you have been threatened by yourself, why can't you hire some redneck goons. buy some secret knockout gadgets and put them all around your underwear drawers and shit, cuz Cleetus McCoy is going to be rifling through them every day
awesome episode, seeing the pigshit moonshine guy mummified was cool. ava + lawnmower man make a great team, too bad boyd is probably gonna kill em next episode
RIP mikey, you were the truest soldier of them all
Also, on another note--So far, I think this season is as good as Season 2, which is huge. It's been really awesome so far and they are hitting all the notes that made Season 2 awesome. Raylan has been going full modern "disarmingly perceptive hick" constantly, and it's been fucking awesome. The showdown between him and the other pistoleer was probably one of my favorite scenes in the show. If any of you stopped watching because Season 5 was a little dull, you should watch S6--it feels like the pay off for S5, and it's really done well.
