Reddit is giving it some pretty nerdy praise.
and it's absolutely terrible
I am unable to find it through the normal channels. Guess it hasn't been shared yet aside from specific sites?
EDIT: Found one. Seems a lot of the links on reddit were no longer active

About 7 minutes or so.
it's really good, wheres all this hate coming from? i mean wtf? DC is a dorky company as far as super heroes goes, but they got the superhero tv drama down.
this one pilot is way better than agents of shield, and i watched every horrible eps of that series.
they modernized this really well, boil it down flash is about a dumb guy that can run stupid fast.
they created a believable particle accelerator backdrop, leading to more wtf meta-humans, they mixed it thawne/zoom/mom really well. (no comic spoilers)
they got the law and order black cop, who plays cop really well, and even geoff johns was a writer in this, probably the only good writer still at DC.
oh and i didn't even get to the cgi/special effects. making a dumb guy run fast leaving a trail of red, look cool is probably hard and this was better than most movie cgi out there
I enjoyed the pilot but it was in no way better than Agent's of Shield. It has all the typical nerd hero tropes . That being said I still enjoyed it and will gladly give the show a chance.
Its better than Arrow. Its worse than Arrow.
Its way cornier than Arrow. No, its less corny than Arrow.
Its way better than Agents of shield, no its not nearly as good.
"The Internet" "Trust No One"
um, no fucking way am i watching this now because the pilot might not be completely finished yet or they may still need to add/remove stuff to liven it up. i am also not going to wait 4 months to see the second episode.
Read the first comment in this thread, check who the OP is, understand the law of the rerolled entertainment forums, and then you'll know whether this is worth watching.
As long as the actor stops nodding in every scene he's in I'll enjoy it.

I liked it. Go ahead and watch it Chuk, it is a finished product.
The only question I have is:
Just finished watching it. It's not too bad at all tbh. I don't watch Arrow because I don't like character at all even in the comics, I tried a few episodes and couldn't get into it.
I do like the Flash. I've read a lot of the comics and I thought the tv show had a lot of potential to be shit but it surprised me by actually being enjoyable and captured the spirit of the character well.
Agents of Shield was unwatchable, I think I lasted 4 episodes then tapped out.

yeah it looks about as finished as its ever likely to get. i thought it was pretty sweet.anyway, i really enjoyed that and i dunno why the fuck supertouch would say it was terrible, why do you say such things?Spoiler:

Do we count this as us converting Chuk or supertouch alienating Chuk from the dark side?
The day after this 'leaks' we get the CW promoting the fuck out of this. Airing the two Barry Allen episodes of Arrow, then the premiere, then airing the premiere again after Arrow and then doing the same for the second episode the next week.
They want to make damn sure that people know about it, plus if it turns out that more people watch when it airs after Arrow than do on the normal airtime they might just switch it up.
i think i have a mild form of OCD where if i see something wrong with something it can irk me enough to make me go out and fix it and if i cant fix it then i will be bummed out. i get like that with a lot of things, not just movies and tv. if i see the hottest girl in the world and she has some stupid tattoo on her, it totally ruins any and all hotness she has. as for supertouch, i dunno whats up with him.
grrr came here to post the air date to find this thread lol.... guess i'll check it out tonight, but if you want to wait..
"The Flash" will premiere on Tuesday, October 7 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time with "Arrow" premiering on Wednesday, October 8 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. An encore presentation of "The Flash" pilot will follow the season three premiere of "Arrow."
just finished it, really enjoyed it too, gives me the superhero fix i need and am now looking forward for it to start.
I did like that Barry's dad was the Flash from the early 90's Flash series

Regarding the end:
Finally watched this. I thought it was pretty terrible. Weak writing, weak acting, weak pacing. Hopefully it catches its stride because I want to like it.
Haven't watched this yet, but am willing to cut it slack as it's a pilot, and pilots usually aren't that great. I will watch at least 5 episodes. Can't be worse than Shield, can it?
I thought it was marginally worse than the Shield pilot. I'll give it a chance. I thought Arrow started out pretty shaky to, but God damn did it get good.
its very raw, but nothing extraneous for a pilot. you want to see a terrible pilot, go check out the pilot for the original star trek.
Okay maybe Dexter.
I don't know what people are expecting tbh, it's a superhero show primarily aimed at a teen audience, if you were expecting high art then you came to the wrong place.
I thought it was decent, it had Flash's primary nemesis in the first episode and references to others sprinkled throughout, the effects were completely acceptable. They made a reference to Grodd as well which I thought was pretty brave, they could have taken the Agents of Shield approach and put in a load of no name bastards of the week.

I liked it quite a bit, only thing i would say is if felt rushed. Definitely no where near Sheild, that comparison is rediculous
Was not bad at all, Supertouch the barometer of shit opinions strikes again
Just wanted it with the wife. We both think it was a very solid first episode. And as she put it "At least it's not ashamed to be a super hero show like Arrow is."
I fucking love this pilot. I was never a huge fan of the Flash as a character (though I did watch the brief live action version when it was on), and this felt like they tweaked just enough of the cannon to make it more palatable to a broader audience. As a pretty big comic nerd, I am extremely pleased to see the arc they are using to start. Very promising.
I would much rather they cram the whole origin and backfill into one pilot episode than give us 2 years of "back to my days on the island" flashbacks...
I personally liked the flashbacks but maybe that's just me.
technically arrow's origin was only like one episode, boat shipwrecks, father dies and ollie returns to starling city to clean up the rich crooks on his dad's list.
Finally got a chance to watch the leaked episode.
I can understand some of the complaints. Overall however I really enjoyed the show, and can't wait till it airs officially to give me another show along side arrow to get my inner-nerd on with .
watched the pilot.
liked the pilot. decent setup, though him revealing who he was so soon was...stupid but,, tis TV.
surprising in a good way. more superheroes the better
I suppose in retrospect having Killer Frost as one of the main characters should have clued us in. Firestorm is a pretty heavy hitter in the DCU so yeah it seems that this show will be fully embracing metahumans and super powers.
BLEH I hate firestorm, he can be such an annoying doofus and his powers are too OP. Boo urns.
I agree firestorm is OP, but there's a simple solution built in. You have the dumb jock that can't grasp basic chemistry in control, and the super nerd in his head with some sort of communication difficulty (they argue, he can't explain well, he gets frustrated, whateverthefuck) so he can't do much very often. Likely takes the name because he can do fire well. bam, done.
I'd also like to point out that Firestorm is easily one of the nerdier characters in all of DC. If they can pull him off to the not-comic-biased audience, we may have a DC coup incoming in the next 5 years. Marvel broke pop cultures' hymen, DC's gonna creampie it. And if we're all lucky, and good little boys and girls, Image will do anal in the next 20 years.
I dunno what your last paragraph means but i think it turned me on. Can i be your wingman?
He assumes that DC is going to somehow crush the fuck out of The Avengers with the expedited JLA. Then Image Comics is going to unleash Frozen Jesus on both of them with some kind of WildCats/Spawn/Youngblood/Savage Dragon collaborated movie.
I think he's smoking wet.
that would be nice. i like DC superheroes better than marvel. but marvel is really good at making successful adaptions.
Yeah yeah, I know I'm dreaming big. I like Marvel and DC both, a lot. But DC has better characters, plain and simple, imo. But if my little fantasy of BvS being a set up for JL beyond came true, I think DC could beat Avengers. And then Disney buys DC, and squeeeeeee-crossovers.
n yeah its wet, takes too long to dry =(
Alan Moore's Firestorm was hilarious (it is in a Swamp Thing Annual, can't remember which one). He was basically insane and totally out of touch with reality. It is a really tough character for them to do. The writing will need to be spot on. That actor though, ughh. He was one of the reasons that Tomorrow People thing truly sucked.
I find it funny that people are complaining that the Flash episode seemed... Rushed..

new flash poster is out, apparently it has some easter eggy stuff in it.
this little sissy explains
Remember when geeks used to write things I could read in <20 seconds instead of posting 5 minute long winding videos of themselves talking?
Today is the day for the premiere. Not that many people haven't seen it already thanks to the heavily leaked pilot episode being everywhere for months.
(Some mod should retitle this thread, could create a new one but there's already been so much talk here it seems a waste to drop it)
I waited too. Tonight is going to be awesome.
So far I'm liking the pilot
Don't have much to add that others didn't already comment on, during the leak, about crisis, etc.
Barry's dad was great.
FX were kindof cheap. Worked much better in the trialers as just quick shots.
The chick is too much like Simmons from SHIELD, it's very distracting ;p
That was a fun pilot. Iris is crazy hot. I'm guessing pretty cop is anti-flash or whoever it is that killed Barry's mom.
I liked the pilot. I really REALLY liked The Flash from the Justice League series from the 00's, so I was looking forward to this.
And, was that Gorilla Grodd's cage?
I waited. It was awesome. I love that they immediately connected it with Arrow, too. I giggled like a school girl when I saw the Starling City sign.
Wife and I watched it last night as well. Enjoyed it and she gave it the thumbs up for recording!
The Flash has always been one of my favorite DC characters. The pilot was pretty good, although they've taken liberties with origins. Meh.
I can live with the changes to the origin. That has to happen with any reboot , and especially changing medium into TV. Wife and I both thought this was solid, but we also watched this back when it leaked. Nice of them to go ahead and start the "metahuman" references.... Although saying the particle accelerator causing all the metahumans is horribly close to how kyrptonite mysteriously caused all those "freak of the week" superpowered individuals on Smallville.
P.S. - Yes the cage said Grodd on it.
Really enjoyed it, the guy playing him is pretty great for the roll of a young Barry Allen I think. It's got the typical cheese and "oh come ON" moments you get with any CW show, but nothing too egregious.
HOWEVAH! The mutual "Cools" with him and Arrow was so gay I had to go punch a bear and kick down a sequoia just to un-queer myself for having seen it.
That was a very short role for Armand Assante.
yeah. I am really not a fan of the "insert other superhero here" gave me my name and the idea. They did that shit on Smallville too. Which was REALLY lame as they did the same shit. Green fucking arrow, invented the Justice league, and even was the inspiration for Superman, who was an emo bitch for 10 seasons before being quilted into it bey Arrow.
What the hell?
When recounting the "my mom was killed by a superhuman" story, Barry did not mention he had been searching for superhumans, on his own show. (and found some on Starling City). Felt weird for that part to be cut out.
And then yeah, Arrows only comment is "cool". And that silly speech about being chosen. As opposed to "holy shit dude".
I enjoyed the pilot. Liked it more than Gotham. I will put this on record as this show actually has a super hero with super villians in it. I am always weary of casting super heroes but the guy they chose to play the flash seems to be pretty good. I would have preferred an Arrow cameo later in the season but the CW has to get that advertising going. That was the only part that felt forced to me.
When that girl finally smiled at the end, am I the only one who thought, "Holy shit you look ugly when you smile, go back to frowning now please".
I have a coupla questions and i hope you guys can refresh my memory. Barry allen was the guy who showed up in arrow and felicity fell in love with, right? Is that the same actor? Something seems different.
Second, that crippled doctor, wasn't he a villain in Arrow? Maybe I'm remembering him from something else, but as soon as I saw him I thought he was a known villain.
Oh and that cop deserved to die. Those fucks were nothing but intruders. No warrant and not once did they try to identify themselves. My outrage over this was subdued by the fact that they never called the guy who got away a 'cop killer'.
