Server: ReRolled IV SMP Server
Max Players: 38
Server Version: Direwolf20 (v1.0.19) Minecraft Version 1.6.4
Server IP: 188.8.131.52:35284
MCPC+ Version: 1.6.4
Server Live Date: 2/25/14
This is a FTB server using the Direwolf20 pack 1.6.4 (v1.0.19). It's running with MCPC+ which allows Bukkit plugins to work with Forge mods. What this means is that you get all the server security of Bukkit with the build possibilities of FTB!
To connect to the server you will need the FTB launcher available Here. Simply select the Direwolf20 (v1.0.19) Minecraft Version 1.6.4 under the Modpacks tab, enter your normal Minecraft login information, and Launch. Then proceed to connect to the server like you always have.
Whitelist: (Please PM Kais to be added to the whitelist)
-Mystcraft is currently enabled for the purposes of making linkbooks. I have disabled the placement and use of the Book Binder to prevent new worlds from being generated. If this is circumvented and new worlds are created, i will ban that user and disable Mystcraft entirely. This is entirely for server stability purposes.
-Linking books are meant to be the primary means of distance travel. I've disabled teleport and warp to this end. You should have no trouble making linkbooks to accomplish your travel needs.
-The Nexus will be the central place for all Link books to meet up and be placed. If you wish your base to be private i suggest your Link Book links to an anteroom with a secure door/drawbridge/etc.
-Mining Age. There will be a Mining age created to facilitate large scale mining operations. Quarries, Ender Quarries, Mining Wells, Mining Turtles, Arcane Bore, etc. will NOT be tolerated in the overworld. If this is abused the offender will be banned. I hate to be harsh but these things can wreck a server. I've left Quarries and the like unbanned currently to help folks clear out a base if desired. Don't make me regret this.
-Lockette has not been enabled on the server because it does not work on mod objects. This is far from limiting however as most mods have means to create secure doors and storage, including friend list support.
-Theft will not be tolerated. The offender will be banned from this and all future servers. This includes taking blocks.
-Ender storage works on a color scheme. White/White/White is public. Individual color codes will be the first 2 colors (ie: red/blue/X) Place a sign near your Link book in the nexus to claim your own color scheme.
-ChunkLoaders are limited to 4 per player with a maximum of 9 chunks each. I will adjust this as lag allows.
-I ask that large scale automation be switched off when not in active use, or when you are not online. This includes, but is not limited to: quarries, farms, cobble/stone/brick/sand/etc generators, mob traps, exp generators. I ask that you don't run this stuff if you are not actively playing to help ease lag concerns. If you step away from the game for a few days you have to turn this stuff off. If your operation becomes a strain on the server, i will disassemble it.
Server Details & Additional Information:
Explosion block damage has been disabled (creeper, tnt, nuclear, etc). You will still take damage however
TNT placement and their modded ilk have been disabled. There are some items that need explosions to create them (diamond shards, black holes) get with an admin to have them created.
Placing lava source blocks has been disabled (buckets are still good but you can't pour into the world)
Fire spread has been disabled
Endermen griefing has been disabled
Nether, End, Nexus age, Twilight Forest, Secret Cow Level are all in and working (provided you can get there...)
/tp and /home have been disabled
warp signs have been disabled
Economy has been disabled

I advise anyone who did not DL the pack yet to check out a couple of server locations in the options. One was much faster than the default for me(atlanta).
Also a note on EnderStorage, you can place a "diamond" on the chest latch to make that Ender Channel private to you only, Ender Pounches will still link with privatized ender chests but only for the actual owner.

May want to think about seriously nurfing/disabling Thaumcraft taint spread as well. Last server I ran that shit was a serious headache.
Out of curiosity how powerful is the server you're running this on?
It didn't occur to me to turn off taint, but i can completely see your point. Taint spread is now off. Any existing tainted areas remain tainted however.
It is a corruption of the existing biome from "bad magical stuff" for lack of a better word. Thaumcraft generates it. It will turn animals and creatures into tainted versions, as well as the plants, grass, dirt, etc. And it expands unless you take fairly drastic steps to stop it. Oh, and it can damage you.
It is a pain in the ass pretty much, and if you have someone working near a tainted area, thus keeping the chunks loaded, eventually it will grow and spread all over the fucking place. It sucks.
PS I need to learn Tinkers' Construct
While I am not running a brand spanking new computer, it is 'brand spanking' new from 2012... But I keep getting hammered by java.lang.OutOfMemoryError whenever I try to do the FTB Direwolf install, then it all shuts down =/
Rime, go into, advanced settings under Options in the FTB launcher you need to up the amount of RAM you give to java for it to work with any modpacks now a day's,
I run 3g-5g for ram to java when minecraft is running.
PS, this is what happens when world Gen goes wrong, rofl

Thank you right kindly. Look at me, learning new things, like a velociraptor.
I can't seem to use a bucket of lava to directly fill a smelter tank, or portable tank. How are peeps getting lava into their bigger tanks?
The ability to pour lava from a bucket, or place lava source blocks anywhere in the worlds, has been disabled to protect the server. It's a somewhat common practice (and has happened to us before in the past) that someone gains access to the server then pours lava onto everything. The difficulty lies in that there is really no way to prevent buckets from pouring into the world and yet allow interaction with objects. For the moment just let me know when you need to fill and tank and i will. This is an early game measure. Soon enough people will have lava pumps operating with larger tanks and it will be a moot issue.
should have my tank up later today, hopefully barring Frozen Jesus show's up and kills me bahahhaha
Just tried to log in from work, so a word of warning to anyone that hasn't joined yet or has updates forced. You need to choose version 1.0.14 on the DW20 pack, as the current version 1.0.16 doesn't cooperate (something about angel blocks not being compatible). So if you keep getting disconnected, check that first.
And for those that don't know from previous servers, if I'm online any time before 5pm Pacific time, I'm at work, so I will probably be AFK a lot and just standing around in my base. If I don't respond it isn't (only) because I think you're a jerk and I'm ignoring you.
Hiro- I am traveling for a few days. Feel free to use up all that cobalt for you and yokooo.
Looks like there is some conflict with Twilight Forest in the latest release 1.0.16 so i'm not going to update the server for it yet. When logging in, do NOT accept the prompt to update to latest version. If you wish, click the "Recommended" dropdown at the top and select the 1.0.14 version.
Thread needs more screenshots. It s been a few days, there should be some builds or machines contraptions available!
In other words, woe is me!
All I've got is a pulverizer, redstone furnace, leadstone cell, all running on a couple dynamo steam engines.
Gotta start somewhere
Haven't gotten my first diamond yet. I've spent most of my time hollowing out a mountain for my lair (like usual).
Will we have to update the mod pack before we go back?
I would double check but I think if you place a lava bucket inside a dispenser you can still get it to flow.
Server has been updated to 1.0.16. This update includes the newest version of Thaumcraft that i know some of us have been waiting for. You will need to update your client to 1.0.16 to connect. Server is online.
Can I get whitelisted. Don't know when I'll be on.
Server down! I REPEAT, SERVER DOWN! *Runs around, flailing arms*
Server up! With some odd Java crashes.
Random shots of stuff..
Place I might come back to and build something vanilla in, no machines etc etc
Silk Touch FTW
Griding out my build, balancing out support posts(Ya I know not needed, but too many years spent building shit)
My *blank* slate area.
Basic AE, sorting my Quarry Input.
Whomever left me a present, thanks, that was awesome
I think updating the server made my hot dryad bitches disappear though. So sad
Hopefully I'll get in some playtime this weekend and actually make a little progress. Anyone get to The End yet?
Yep, finnaly got enough Enderman Eyeballs to find, and get in.
There is a linking book in the nexus to The End.(Dragon is still alive though)
And your welcome!
dbl post what ?!?

Moss for the tool modifier...
How do I get moss aside from finding mossy bricks?
You have to find ONE Moss Stone. Then use it in a Liquid Transposer, which will turn normal Cobblestone into Moss Stone, so long as you keep the machine running and supply it with plenty of water.
Supposedly, you can do it in vanilla Minecraft by planting one Moss Stone, submerged in water, with cobblestone around it and it will spread, but I tried it for a few hours last night and no luck. Transposer gave me three stacks in about five minutes.

Man I've never played a heavilly modded game and the screen shot above kind of intimidates me. I've watched videos on the advanced building of things and it always confuses me. I'm Minecraft retarded.
Direwolf20 let's play.
It's handholding at it's best
Do I have to download mods to play or is it all server side? I think I tried installing something once before and couldn't figure out how to get it to work.
Just go to FTB, download the client/manager. It is all one or two clicks from there. It installs all of the mods for you. You will probably have to go into the options and adjust the RAM/Memory/Whatever up to 5 or 6gb. It's default is 1 or 1.5gb and that is not enough to run Direwolf20 (Which is what the server runs).
It is intimidating at first. Hell, I have probably clocked 10-15 hours on the server (Maybe more. Yikes) and I have barely scratched the surface of one mod pack. I have not touched the solar/wind/etc 'Green' technology pack yet or the Forestry (Growing different species of trees, bees, etc) or either of the two (Or was it 3?!) Magic Packs involved in the pack. It is pretty fracking awesome. I am not sure I will ever be able to go back to a 'vanilla' server permanently.
The 'hammer' tool mod alone has me salivating whenever I log in. Easy (relative to almost everything else in the pack) to get tool that mines in a 3 tall by 3 wide plane? Yes please!
Plus, most of the people on the server are very helpful if you are lost/have questions.
Not on the fly but it will give the exact numbers if you put in in the TC tool forge.
Also i have four mossy stones in my suite at Casa de Hiro. If you still need feel fee to grab some.
*just saw the autorepair screenshot nvm!

Mossy autorepair seems so slow that it's almost not worth the modifier.
Am I doing something wrong.
You can stack multiples of a modifier to increase it's effectiveness. Each time takes a multiplier spot however.
As for the auto-repair from moss, yeah it is a bit slow, but that's typically where I then try to do other shit around my base for awhile if I'm waiting for it to repair. And it supposedly repairs a little faster during daytime. I don't remember if having it on your hotbar matters or not, I don't think so. Just don't have it in a chest or backpack or pouch, etc.
You don't need a mosy stone to make the mossy stone in the fluid transposer, just put a bucket of water into in and throw the cobble in, it makes 4 mossy stone per bucket of water.
And after looking at the Project Red, configs last night which is what add's the ability to grow mossy cobble, it's disabled for some odd reason, must be some lag maker or something only reason why they would disable it.
Daaaang. What base is that hammer, Adebisi? I am a bit jealous.
Also, regarding the auto-repair: it is painfully slow (though slightly faster in sunlight). When I was dicking around in singleplayer I tossed the TE capacitor on mine, with the thought that energy is much easier to come by than cobalt. Unfortunately that didn't quite pan out how I expected... they charge quite slow, and if you try to charge them by using the TE Flux Capacitors, each tick of recharging resets your swing, meaning the super fancy cobalt hammer I built and loaded down with Redstone (for haste) is utterly wasted. Basically I can mine one block (well, one 3x3 area), and then have to wait for it to finish recharging before I can break the next one. Quite irritating.
I have used Tinker's far too many times, so I decided to go with the Redstone Arsenal tools (related to Thermal Expansion). I'm using the pick right now, and I love it. Base model is not as fast as some of the Tinker's stuff of course, but I enchanted it and it got Efficiency IV and Unbreaking III on it. Now the standard usage dropped from 200 to 80 RF and the charged use from 800 to 320. Huge difference, and now it goes much faster as well, so I'm guessing Unbreaking cut the cost and Efficiency made it faster.
For those unfamiliar with it, charged up it mines the block in front of you, the one above it, and the one below it. In other words, a 3-block tunnel if you go straight ahead. Also, it charges from empty to full in less than 10 seconds in the Energetic Infuser. It also mines through "shovel stuff" when charged up, one block at a time, at lightning speed. So dirt, sand, and gravel all pretty much vaporize if you have it on charged mode. No more switching to a shovel.
It also mines Ardite and Cobalt. However, now that I have it with a nice enchant (looting would be nice, but quarries will be doing most of it now anyway), I see no reason for me to ever use Tinker's this playthrough. They can be a bit expensive, several diamonds if I remember correctly (I think 2 per "stick"? as in, a pickaxe normally uses 2 sticks for the handle, so it would require 4 diamonds...but I could be off on that).
And it makes a little thunder noise every time you switch to charged mode!
One thing that always suffers in the heavily modded MC servers is the building creativity. Most people make a machine dungeon or cube and spend all their time gathering mats to make machines to create more machines to gather mats.
So I'm happy to see some people making fancy houses
So, the server went down, and when it came back up, I have a redwood tree growing over half of my base. Lost all of my magic (Ars Magicka/Thaumcraft) supplies, a big chunk of my other materials and farm.
Guessing it was a glitch or maybe something to do with my base being in the 'Nexus'. Think I will move to a more stable realm? Still sucks that I lost all of my magic materials =/
Kais might be able to paste the old chunks over it perhaps. I'm not sure what world edit tools he has available, but that sort of thing is possible at times.
The tree is an aberration, not foul play. The server choked pretty hard last night right before it happened. I've upgraded the hosting plan and will be bringing the server down shortly for some maintenance that should help. Please give me about 10 minutes to get everything sorted before reconnecting, thanks.
Server back up, performance seems to have improved.
Server coming down for some updates. Should take about 15-20 minutes. I'll post again when its updated. In the mean time, update your clients to 1.0.18. You'll have to force the update under the "reccomended" dropdown on the Modpacks page. Release version is still 1.0.16. This update should improve chunkloading performance, fix java crash errors, and a few other mod specific issues. Thanks.
Says I'm missing a bunch of required mods
NM redownloading FTB for .18
I get a forge mod error
I've reinstalled the launcher and I'm still getting the error
Been away for a few days - was there ever any traction with a community plan/project idea?

fuck fuck fuck fuck
I accidentally shift right clicked the Machine Frame creation box in my AE Crafting interface. It made me 64 goddamn Thermal Expansion machine frames.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck
Who needs machine frames?
I hate when that happens
Too bad those aren't used in energy cells or something.
I could use a few if you have
BTW, chickenchunks chunk loaders have been known to cause chunk regens, which sounds like what happened to one of you. I had it happen to me recently on a MagicFarm2 server too, pretty annoying. It ate my whole 110 dynamo MFR laser drill setup and the 3 nearly full diamond chests it was feeding in to, and I wasn't able to get any of it back. Needless to say, it was annoying.
I know you guys are using the DW20 modpack, but I'd suggest switching over to dimensional anchors or something instead of chickenchunks if at all possible, especially if you don't have any easy way to restore lost chunks.
thanks for completing all that, and then sharing the tomes with us. That rocks, would have taken me months to do
Passed by spawn yesterday and a freaking penguin came out of a portal in the house. By the time i got some wheat to try and lead him back to Fol's compound as a peace offering it had jumped in the fireplace and burned to death. That is all.
Kais, sent you a pm a couple days ago, dunno if you missed it. Can you please add me to the whitelist, Minecraft name is Candari.
Are jetpacks from modular powersuits not allowed on this server?
You have to setup a keybind to activate them, like most of the modular powersuit functions. I believe the interface to do so is "k"?
I was auto kicked off the server for flying
Need to set "allow-flight" in the server.properties file to true or you'll get that for most flight items.
What would you say is the best automated mining options?
Mid level? Fully powered quarry
High level? MFR Laser drills (One catch is these don't generate some mod ores though. They also take a metric fuck ton of power.)
The laser setup is one laser drill surrounded by 4 laser drill prechargers. You provide power to the prechargers and they power the drill. On my last server I had to use one Ultimate Hybrid Solar Panel (I think these are equivalent to HV solar arrays) per precharger to get the laser fully powered.
Are there any server rules on Pump vs Ender-Thermic pump in the Nether since lag seems to be a concern?
The laser drill really only needs 2 prechargers to max out. I was pumping 4250 RF/t into each precharger, and I'm fairly certain that had its speed maxed out or at least very close to it. 8500 RF/t = 850 MJ/t = 2125 EU/t, or thereabouts. Apparently, the higher your drill is, the less power it actually needs to max its speed. I don't know why, or the numbers involved, but food for thought.
As for pumps, Ender-Thermic are vastly superior to the alternatives. They replace fluid blocks with cobblestone which greatly reduces block update lag, and they act as their own chunk loader on top of that. If there's any reason to use an old buildcraft pump over the ender-thermic, I don't know of it.
The Ender Quarry is a servers dream btw best quarry ever.
