already done 20 years ago with the awesomeness of THE MAGIC PORTAL!!!
This actually looks cute. If my daughter were older, I could see her absolutely wanting to see this.
I was able to make out Morgan Freeman's voice (the old dude), but that's about it.
already done 20 years ago with the awesomeness of THE MAGIC PORTAL!!!
I'm calling it now: this is going to be the next Toy Story.
Look at all the destruction in that movie! Why doesn't Lego Superman care?!?!
Lego people are pretty damn resilient. You can break them into the separate pieces, but it's very difficult to actually destroy each individual piece. At most they might lose half of their hands.
Oh, and they released the International Trailer also.
every lego game ive played is fantastic and the new wiiu one has great comedy and cut scenes so if this is anything like that it will be awesome
Love the Lego games. Batman 2 was a total bust unfortunately. That awful fucking split screen they added to the game gave me a headache after a few minutes. You could turn off the dynamic part and just go fixed split screen, but it killed the visuals. Shame really because the game itself is much bigger then previous Lego games.
I knew after playing the games it was only a matter of time before they started rolling out the movies. Should be a fun movie.
This is going to be fun if done right and so cringeworthy shitty if done bad that it will be funny to watch. Soooo win/win?
Nephew wants to see this(hes 7) and niece was to see that movie about the snail who becomes a racer or something.
Lol I will admit the snail movie looked kinda ridiculous, but I did laugh/chuckle a few times in just the preview. So I will take her and if I end up getting more laughs out of it, then all good for me, otherwise as long as she enjoys it, it was worth the money.

TAKE MY MONEY
I had circa 1980 space guy! (He was the captain of my star destroyer.)
I'm taking my 3 year old , pretty sure we both will like it. We saw the previews before the Nut Job and he kept pointing at Batman and yelling Batman, made me proud!
Fantastic movie, great for the kids (went with my 6 year old niece) and it has humour that is directed towards the parents as well.
Looking forward to this as well. Looks like it could be very Wallace and Gromit'ish with plenty of adult humor that will fly over the kids
I don't have kids I'm taking my girlfriend and enjoying myself.
I love legos!
Just got back from seeing this with my four year old son. He really loved it and I found it very enjoyable. Some good "adult" humor mixed in with all the obvious kids stuff and the way they handled Lego mechanics was pretty cool.
Everyone needs to stop what they are doing and go see this. It was fucking hilarious
I seriously haven't laughed that hard at a movie since I can remember.
If your a kid of the 80s you will love this shit. Even more if you played with Legos growing up. Plus the animation is really cool.
Everything in this movie was awesome.
yeah, i really want to see this honestly.
And have everything is awesome stuck in my head already.
I went to go see this yesterday but when i got there it was some kind of birthday party. The theater was literally going to be packed with kids and so i felt a little weird going by myself (on a business trip). So I went to see the Monuments Men instead. Which I also enjoyed.
Good call, could you imagine trying to watch a movie with a theatre full of kids?
I wonder how many 14 year olds Astro was able to get to sneak into this movie with him.

My 9 yr old saw this over the weekend and said it was the best movie he ever saw. Then he proceeded to get into his lego stash for the first time in like 2 yrs, putting down his 360 controller for the first time in weeks.
"You didn't let me finish earlier... because I died"
Really great movie. Easily best (so far) of 2014. Didn't even go with any kids, just a group of 25-35's lawls.
As far is this movie is concerned....Everything is awesome. Kids already asking me to buy it. Brilliantly done.
Wholly entertaining movie. Probably going to be in my top 5 of the year.
And the animation was pretty mind-blowing.
I should hope its your Number 1 for the year.
Or did you REALLY like Hercules?
So far it's #1. I meant that by the end of the year it'd probably still be in my top 5.
I went and saw this movie. I was kind of hoping for more adult humor, but the movie was incredible for what it was. Definitely a movie better seen with children. The theme song was co-written by Satan. You will understand why when you hear the song throughout the movie and cannot get the god damn theme out of your head.
My friend and I went today. Average viewer age was probably around 7 years old. Great movie, especially at the adult and subtle stuff that my friend and I laughed at really loud and kids didn't get/parents didn't see.
Was my turn to be the creepy guy by himself in the theater full of kids, great movie.
I got emotional at the end. I played with legos throughout school and credit it for a big reason I ended up choosing engineering as a major.
And fuck the theme song. Still in my head!
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME. Everything is cool when you're part of a team...EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!
god damn that song won't get out of my head-my kids are singing it, my wife's best friend was singing it in the lobby. adlibbing words in time with the tune to further embarrass her kids...
saw the movie with my kids and loved it.
the end with the duplo's was killer....
"we are from planet duplo, we are here to destroy you"
Yea, wife and I loved the movie, even with no kids.Spoiler:

If you didn't love this movie then your inner child is dead, and yes the ghost was great.
Went and saw this with the girlfriend. A warning- we decided to go stoned and i got way too high and 3d in a rpx theatre was overwhelming. i came down a bit around 5-10 into the movie and really enjoyed it. but yeah dont get too stoned before a 3d animation movie. Movie was great.
Yeah, great movie. I loved the names of the "artifacts". "Bring me the Sword of Exact Zero!"
Although the ending made me think back to The Incredibles: "If everyone is Super, no one will be."
So much to love in this movie. Saw it with the 3 adults and 2 kids and there was humor in it for both camps. My GF had coke come out her nose at the turkey leg "do you know what that will do to your colon?" part. So awesome.
so cool...my mind was blown...
just caught this, was fucking amazing. the level of detail put into this movie reminded me of the guys who made the Coraline flick. shit was over the top. and omg it was original. hows this one get by the hollywood reboot machine?
Everything is Awesome!
I laughed my ass off while watching this movie (with my brother and his wife, no kids) and the part that got me the most is when Batman says, "I'll Text You" and then takes off with his Star Wars Bros.
Haha.. Great movie. Thoroughly enjoyed this. It hit home too because my son just turned 5 back in Feb and I bought him a bucketload of Legos. We spent a whole day playing with them and of course I was the one insisting on the instructions to build the set pieces and my son just wanted to throw random stuff together. Needless to say, this movie struck a chord. Brilliant plot / theme and completely exceeded my expectations.
Another happy viewer, that is how you advertise a product and make an enjoyable bit of entertainment at the same time.
Great movie, only wish it hadn't gone back to the real world at the end. Was great on its own without that 'lesson' added in.
nope! turns out my dad bought this for himself becuase he was layed off and was bored at home. he let me play with them when he brought them out but only for a little while then when i was in bed i could hear him in the living room sifting pieces around. the days after i would see skyscrapers and castles and i was only allowed to look at them, but i was forbidden to touch. this went on for months til he went back to work. then i could play with them.... but only when my dad was aound, he kept the lego box out of my reach. years later (2 years ago! ) im at a rummage sale and i see a familiar box. its the lego box from my youth, i buy them and bring it home and for a week i would put stuff together all by myself. i told my dad about my find and when he visited i forgot to show him. later on the phone he told me that he got mad that i was holding them back. he didnt believe i forgot.
Oh just for that Neg you're going to be AstroCreep until the day you stop posting here, or more likely the day I get bored and stop posting here.
Wait I can get negs just for complaining about them? I'm complaining about the neg you just gave me, especially since you're a pussy fuck who can't sign their passive aggressive menstrual flow.
first of all i have not negged you. a mod can check, but i dont think i have negged anyone or hardly anyone. but i definitely did not neg you. second of all, i can not neg the same person twice, if somebody hit you up then its on you because you complained about a neg, which has been a board standard for like 6 years. thirdly , i have not even been on the board all day. i was at work, then i went flea marketing and garage sale hunting then i came home and seared myself a fatass steak on my cast iron pan then i chilled out puffing my pipe while watching some naked bitch chew some naked dude out in the jungle for being "diluted".
lastly, yes i can relate to the lego movie, which is why i posted that story.
i just plused you out of the minus world. hope that helps

Bitching about negs in a Lego movie thread. This is why we can't have nice things.
Only 3 negs, that's utter bull shit. I deserve better than that
Finally saw this and it was awesome.
When Batman song came (Darkness....no parents LOL) up the 1st time, i almost went in tears LOL
The spaceship spaceship spaceship was the best scene.
The way they interact the lego story with real life story was top notch.
A war is coming, I've seen it in my dreams. Fires sweeping over the Earth, bodies in the streets, cities turned to dust... retaliation.
Hollywood is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until everything you love is dead.
