Meh tired of remakes.
This was literally just posted! My fiance found it and I've got to say I'm really excited to see what in the hell this actually is. Let the speculation commence.

Is this a remake of Fable 1? If so it was basically the worst game of all time thanks to Peter "Liar" Molyneuax or whatever the fuck his dumbass name is. Doesn't even deserve the time it would take me to look it up. I'd rather spend that time calling him a cocksucking pig fart.
Meh I'd rather a Fable MMO and fully embrace he humour and 'fun' of the world.
"basically the worst game of all time" I hope you are joking..
Fable 1... completed in 5 hours. Peter said it would take us so long to beat it and they'd have all this crazy shit. Didn't deliver on any promise. Never had the dragon in the game, yet all the artwork and resources were datamined and found within the game. Guy basically blew smoke up everyones asses. Game sucked DICK.
Never really thought of Fable as a series with enough fans to warrant something like this.
And here it is
UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed that the new game from Lionhead Studios, teased earlier today, will be Fable Anniversary, a HD remake of the original Fable for Xbox 360 including The Lost Chapters, added Achievements, SmartGlass integration, leaderboards, new UI, and a full 1080p HD visual update.
If I wanted to play a Fable game that didn't suck, I would replay Fable II, which doesn't need a remake.
Remakes I would welcome:
1) Dungeon Keeper
2) Lands of Lore
3) Legends of Kyrandia
4) Syndicate (The old game)
5) AD&D Gold Box Games
Not this garbage.
I hope to God no one buys it.
Remember when Molyneux stated you would be able to plant a tree and come back and it would be grown after some gametime passed?
Cash grab. Easy cash grab with little to no effort.
Ofcourse all sarcasm, the only remake i've ever bought was zone of enders,...because well, its awesome.
A HD remake. How pathetic... Be the ultimate troll if they counted it as one of the 15 exclusives for xbox one. Lol
Yeah, it felt a bit like marketing speak to me as I wrote it. Oh well.
Fable games are pretty fun. Not the worst games ever or even bad like some of you drama queens are making it out to be. It was ridiculously overhyped and promised lots of things it couldn't possibly deliver on, but the games by themselves were pretty solid.
That being said Fable 2 was basically an HD version of Fable 1
I mean, I rate that burn higher than the ME3 Ending Debacle and I think everyone here knows how quickly that gets my blood boiling...
While I have no interest in a "remake", I am interested in what kind of gamers purportedly bombarded the studio with requests. Younger gamers that missed the hype wreck the first go around and grew up with the sequels, people that want another shot at the collectors edition, or what?
When I was a kid I remember reading interviews and previews for Fable and thinking it was really incredible what they were planning to do with aging and dying characters, getting married and having children, and finally playing as the children who would take up the parent's arms and go adventure in the world, etc. When I beat it in a few hours I was pretty upset at how simple, easy, and unimaginative the game was. Had I gone into it with no expectations my experience might have been different, but I've never even looked at a trailer for any of the subsequent Fable games.
In short, fuck Lionhead Studios.
Remake of an over hyped and under delivered game?
To be fair, it's the only Lionhead game that was over-hyped and under-delivered.
Black and White was amazing.....
I never got more than halfway through the Black and White tutorial, shit was boring and frustrating.
And just in case, God I hope you are....
Some critics, after spending more time reviewing the game, altered their judgement: Black & White was selected by GameSpy as the most overrated game of all time in an article published in September 2003, who cited a lack of true interaction with the game's townspeople and poor use of the much-lauded creatures among reasons the game ultimately disappointed. IGN mentioned the game in one of their podcasts discussing overrated games.
I remember thinking this game would be awesome. Turned out to be the most boring and linear game ever. Fuck you Peter you lying cunt.

I didn't even know about the Fable series until Fable 3 came out.

I don't get the hate for Molyneux games. The Black & White and Fable series are all fun games that I enjoyed playing. They're fun little God Games & RPGs that are solid and enjoyable on their own merits.
Judging them based on outlandish stuff a Publisher/Developer said while hyping up the games is just silly. You're supposed to just roll your eyes and not buy into that extreme level of bullshit and just judge the game for what it actually is.
They aren't the best games ever, but they certainly aren't the horrible shit that some people try to make them out to be.
Fable isn't what was promised, but it's still decently put together. It is ridiculously short though.
I never got to play Fable 2. I'm pretty sure it's still a console exclusive. WTB HD remake kthx.
I think Fable was a fine game, but I think for similar reasons I liked Total War: Empire, I missed all the hype and played them much later after all the patches and such came out, so it was completely serviceable in my opinion.
The world has no need for an "HD" version though, I don't know what this shit is about.
By all means though, if they can remove some silly people from their money, congrats I guess.
I was relatively young when I played Fables and I have extremely fond memories of it. It was just 'fun' to play to put it simply.
Fable was the first game I had purchased that felt like I wasted the money. It wasn't a bad game, but it certainly wasn't 50 dollars worth of entertainment imo at the time. RPG games of a similar nature had much more replay and overall content than Fable shipped with at the time. Ah well, the SS above does look nice, but certainly not nice enough to play the game again. I mean... slow time literally trivialized the entire game.
Anyway, Fable 1 and 2 have pretty good reviews, for all the understandable whinging about promises fulfilled. I know metacritic shouldn't be the ultimate arbiter, but 85 and 87 metacritic are pretty damn good.
B&W 3 (or was it 6?) was really good though.
yeah. why is this a thing?
Casuals love Fable though. Its like the Halo of action rpgs, in xbox era.
They didnt hear the hype or false promises. just saw the advertising, and it was one of their first action rpgs.
And if you can put aside the bullshit, that really is about what it is. Halo for action rpgs. its good and enjoyable for what it is. nothing amazing.
Fable was a decent game. Massively over-hyped? Certainly. Bad? I don't think so. That said, there are certainly hundreds of games that I would rather see remade first.

Fable 1 was a mediocre game. It always felt like something was lacking. However, separating that from Molyneux, he is a lying cunt.
I played it on PC after it's little mini expansion came out and I enjoyed it quite a bit back in the day. I think with the expansion I got 10 hours out of it, but I tried to do everything I could in that game. Fable 2 was definitely the best in the series, and the game play of Fable doesn't stand up to any kind of modern scrutiny... definitely not on my list of games I'd like to see remade.
