don't think kyoani does any harem anime
Here we go again.
Decent episodes this week. Surprised that Chuunibiyou didn't fall into the ol' harem schtick.
Serious drama in SAO last weekend, lets hope the follow-up delivers.
don't think kyoani does any harem anime
Anyone else watching Blast of Tempest? Seemed mediocre at start, but I'm kind of enjoying it - last few episodes brought in some time-travel shit so here's to hoping they handle it well.
Halo 4 interrupted my watching of Tempest, Shin Sekai Yori, and Magi. I should probably figure out what episode I stopped at and resume watching.
tempest has the strongest plot of this season..so goodddd
I was expecting Yoshino to pull out the "well, we just proved Hakaze can change the past which alters our future so you're still wrong" gloat.
Of course I was also expecting her to carve something into one of her own bones, but the barrel works too.
Hoping SAO doesn't degenerate into much more imouto drama... doesn't seem that there would be enough time left in the season for it, anyway.
I enjoyed the first half of SAO alot more and the plot was alot more interesting.
Part of the problem is that Asuna went from being a real character, to a princess in a castle. It would've been better if she was free and helping Kirito fight against a threat of mind control devices instead of this white knight nonsense.
I like the plot in the second half too, but the idea that they couldn't die made everything a bit edgier. I just wish they'd spent less time on the Kirito-Leafa thing and made Asuna a little less helpless. She's kinda the antithesis of the first half's Asuna now.
Edit: Exactly, what Kaige said. She's almost a non-player now.
Fairy Dance is weakest arc of all arcs. deus ex machina in both of arc's ending doesn't help.

But now that they did the whole carving thing, i'd guess if they did my idea the barrel would just fall apart doing absolutely nothing. Hmm.
EDIT: cannot put spoiler.
Fairy Tail taunts me by not releasing a fourth OST. The anime has amazing music but they haven't released a soundtrack since the Edolas arc.
Great SAO episode once again, haven't read the manga's so really interested in how this unfolds. Easily my most anticipated series at the moment. *Spoiler* We seem to be past the sister drama for the most part. Hopefully we reach asuna the next episode and she's a live/free character again.

Fantastic SOA episode. Yeah, this is by far my favorite anime.
God damn, I love some SAO. Fantastic episode.
lol he keep getting friendzoned.
Yeah, good episode, but why won't he just DW all the time?
Regarding the next arc, does he carry over his badass stats and level once again?
Where did her sword go in the end anyway? Looked like all he had at the end was his.
Last time I talked about Fairy Tail over here, people were all hating, but it's kinda my favourite fight anime. I like the fact that fights don't drag over 30 EP, cut by two dozen fillers. Animation is decent, it's kinda fun at times and the music is fitting.
It's a shame how quick FT burns through manga material but I'd rather it be like that than drag on like OP tends to do. So far FT's filler isn't terrible like Bleach or Naruto's.
FT's filler is decent, yeah. You're not really left asking "how the fuck would they even make that work if it were canon", like with Bleach especially.
Gotta love this week's last fight, too. I kinda want to know what the hell Ultear did to him in the end that made him lose conciousness. =D
Also, we need spoiler tags bigtime, or am I missing something?
FT is likely my least enjoyed fight anime. I generally only watch it after 10-15 episodes build up just so i can push it to my external drive. SAO has pretty short fights but they are pretty amazing in comparison. Then you have long drawn out amazing fights like in OP or Naruto.
That aside SAO was pretty awesome this week, tho i think i like the action in his first solo attempt more than this time w/ the collective effort.
Onii-chan Dakedo for this week was sweet lol. first episode to have some sort of substance after 9 tries.
Picture of the Week
Magi isn't talked about all that much here, but it's been going pretty strong I think. Ugo bringing the ass the beat this episode was nice!
Does Aladdin get less annoying as the show progresses? Kind of stopped watching after that horseman village arc.
This last episode of Magi as fucking incredible.
Overwhelmingly meh on the number of appealing series.
Nothing there stood out to me at all. Another mediocre winter season it looks like.
I'll still probably watch 90% of it.
Wow that actually looks pretty grim.
Boku wa Tomodachi season 2 is all I needed. $$$
Neeeeeed more Jormungand! Only 700k drop in the bucket..
Seems like for as smart as Koko is, she'd be able to come up with a more plausible plan.
holy shit...never thought that Chuunibyu would deliver this much...all my feels

Random (semi-)recommendation from the autumn season: Girls Und Panzer is genuinely much better than the description of it makes it sound. It's not going to change your life or anything but it's a solid little take on the typical "high school team/club/etc" series with the proviso that the 'sport' in question is WW2 tank warfare. If you like anime & World of Tanks...give it a watch.
Is anyone else watching K? I am really enjoying this anime a lot for some reason.
people still watching K?
I found Girls Und Panzer to be... boring. Maybe I gave up too early (ep 2 or 3) but... meh.
JoJo's 2nd arc is already full of win. This might by my favourite show of the season just because of how over the top it is.
Well, at least we'll get Nekomonagatari and Kizumonogatari and both of them will be awesome.
Oh wait, bet we'll have to wait for at least spring to come up before a DVD release and some team actually put out sub for it.
SAO does it again. Good episode.
Asuna got stripped. Nothing else to say. Thought it would be bad and then watched it, it was worse than bad...loss for words...usually i hold the complaints and find something to enjoy...but goddamn...i have no words...

What did you figure was going to happen? Only one thing was virtually guaranteed to happen this episode, and everyone already knew what it was, so how disappointed can you really be?
i dunno man...I dunno.... but here is the picture of the week.
Sums up half the episode in one GIF. Good stuff.
Yeah, pretty terribad episode of SAO. Hopefully they wrap the season up a little better.
I've been watching K, its decent but I feel as if it could've used the whole 26 episode stretch to make it better. It feels a little rushed.
Random thought - given there appears to be only one pain slider for the entire game ( neither of them specify a target for the pain slider, and it starts at 80 instead of 100 when kirito uses it ), did Kirito cause mass casualties by setting pain dampener to zero ? ;p
Also - "system command; summon excalibur" - someone has hacked admin rights and *that* is the first thing you come up with ? lol.
That area was not in game. There was only 3 people there
The reason that they say Excalibur is in the story they skipped, there s a dungeon under that city at the base of the tree, the most powerful sword in game is rumored to be in that dungeon, the name of the sword in the dungeon is Excalibur. Kirito and lyfa find it's location but do not get it.
The world seed.....Spoiler:
Next adventure of kirito....gun Gale...a vmmo pvp game..with guns.

as long as they don't make a sequel animation and any publicity of SAO stops....I'd be a happy man.

can some1 post a shortlist of the good filtered animes? i've only kept up with SAO, and it's xmas vacation time, so catch up time. (kinda tried to not read thread, afraid of spoilers)
Zetsuen no Tempest - I'm probably enjoying this one the most.
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, Shinsekai Yori, Chuunibyou, Jormungand, Sword Art - I am enjoying these.
Robotics;Notes, Psycho-Pass, K - still watching but hesitant to recommend until/unless something more solid happens.
Code breaker - lost interest.
Uchuu Kyoudai - this anime redefines 'glacial pace', I have no idea why I am still watching it, but I am ;p
Chuunibyou ends. A good show.
Okay, the latest episodes of Zetsuen no Tempest and Psycho-Pass were pretty awesome. Especially Psycho-Pass.
Meh why is it taking so long for the second Berserk movie to be subbed?
Kinda sad that BTOOOM! is over for now, eager for a second season of it.
Might be kind of old, I don't follow anime too much. But Code Gesea and Gungrave were pretty awesome.
Gotta admit I'm glad I read these posts, I never would have started watching Tempest but it's a great show.
These last few seasons have only had a few shows that really stuck for me.
SAO - (had to go read all the light novels, absolutely love the series now).
Magi - I really want to like this show, but it's definitely not what I expected, was hoping for more dungeons I guess.
Sakurasou no Pet no Kanojo - Not sure why but one of the few that has held my interest.
Psycho-Pass, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, Chuunibyou and K just lost me.
I suppose I would have more to watch if I didn't get impatient and just switch to the Manga of any show that has it. All that said, I hope Winter has some hidden gems that I am just missing =P.
I stopped at Episode 9, I suppose I should go ahead and finish it lol. Not really sure why I lost interest considering the first few episodes were really good.
only thing to look forward to: to love-ru BD release.
BD release includes uncensored episodes of what is currently being aired right now.
Also, SAO is over. It has been a great action oriented soap opera.

SAO started out so promising and was good until nearly the end. Then it became horrible, quickly. I'm hoping they have an ep 26 next week that has some kind of non-plot-related fight scene in it, so that we can see a decent fight again, because that's what this anime was best at. Action scenes. Not mega-drama, which was all we saw this week, really.
SAO is at its best when it's actually being a video game. Makes me think about the context of the Final Fantasy movies and why those were so different.
Greatest love story ever told.
Just finished watching the 2nd Berserk movie. God damn that was awesome, need more of it.
Last episode of Hellsing Ultimate OVA is being released today. Should be up on tokyotosho in the next 24-48 hours.
You guys are bumming me out, Just started watching SAO today and have enjoyed the first 3 episodes immensely, Ill stick it out but sounds like I will be disappointed. Sounds like you suggest reading the books too? Thanks for the heads up on the Berserk movie, that is the only Manga I keep up on I'll have to give it a try.
SAO is a Light novel , so you can find the readings from here if you wanna check it out:
yeah usually, after 3-4 episodes of SAO, people's expectation for epicness drops to zero.
all the amazing things that people say at episode 3 and followup comments:

You people are crazy. I loved all of SAO. The second arc could have been better, but it was still great. I can't wait for them to animate more of the light novels.

The RC reviewer for SAO had an axe to grind from the start I think, he kept complaining about things that didn't actually happen in the anime.
For the upcoming stuff, I still don't see anything that looks like it will be really good, but then again, I think the only anime I've initially thought would be really good, and ended up being fantastic is fate zero. It's usually ones I dismissed in the initial look that end up being pretty good.
