Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced Infinite Crisis, an all-new multiplayer online battle arena game developed by Turbine, the award winning studio behind free-to-play online games including The Lord of the Rings Online. Infinite Crisis is a free-to-play game that features a deep roster of DC Comics characters and is scheduled for release in 2013 for the PC.
Infinite Crisis is a new entrant into the wildly popular MOBA genre that delivers a heart-pounding competitive player vs. player battle experience set in the legendary DC Multiverse - a world in which familiar DC Comics characters have been reimagined in startling ways. Featuring a wide variety of DC Comics heroes and villains, Infinite Crisis puts players in control of twisted incarnations of their favourite characters throughout the Multiverse such as Nightmare Batman and Gaslight Catwoman, playing in league with well-known characters including Green Lantern and The Flash.
“We are thrilled to bring Infinite Crisis, a truly competitive experience featuring the DC Comics lore and characters, to the MOBA genre,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Turbine is a pioneer in online gaming and combined with the amazing world of DC Comics, they are executing on a game concept that expands the MOBA genre.”
“The Turbine team is very excited to reveal Infinite Crisis to the world and extend the MOBA genre with new features,” said Jeffrey Steefel, Executive Producer, Turbine. “We are utilizing years of experience in the online game space to deliver innovations to the MOBA genre with a game that features fast-paced action, a major story arc, destructible environments, catastrophic events and a deep roster of iconic DC Comics characters.”
looks fucking terrible and they should be embarrassed for attempting this
+ it will fail cuz turbine
an understated ensemble that puts the "b" in subtle
its gonna be shit but if done by the right people id probably play a 3d version of a moba, i know smite is something like this i think.
first pic = WB version of pudge?

the idiot who plays blessed shield with no jenkebabobob or foote
Got into the stress test for later today, I guess that means I also get closed beta invite when they send the next round out.
Please keep updated Oblio, want to know if this turns out to be decent.
I will give you my honest feedback, but you all should know I have never played DOTA or LOL or any games like this.
Also got the stress test and now closed beta invites for this. Amusing since I am very nearly the worst DOTA player on the planet having only ever played LoL or DOTA2 a handful of times.
One thing I can say for this is that it changes up the whole 'lanes' concept a bit.
The only available map right now is, pretty much, a straight up copy of League of Legends dominion.
They have announced another map recently that sounds like a copy of the 3v3 map from League of Legends.
The overall feel of the game is that of a straight up copy of League of Legends.
The game, as it stands, is nearly unplayable for me, as I have to deal with a 2s delay on any order I give my hero.
However, from what I have gathered in game chat, this is not a common problem.
I am from Europe so maybe its related to the location of the server, but still... I can play dota or LoL on US servers with something like 100ish ms latencies. This feels absurd.
As far as heroes go, I have only used a few and didn't really play that much due to my technical problems.
There are about a dozen heroes available right now, they don't feel like straight up copies of LoL champions, but they would fit just fine in LoL.
All that said, even with the 2s delay I found the game a bit enjoyable, I don't really see what it brings to the table with LoL and Dota 2.
If you are looking for something different this isn't it, but if you really like LoL and the DC universe this game might be good for you.
Does it feature denies or no denies?
Didn't try, I'll check tomorrow but I'm guessing no.
I was in the stress test, closed beta as well. Im a fairly active LoL player. Not impressed with this at all. Didnt feel as responsive as LoL, which is sorta a big deal. And it wasnt a lag issue, just stiff animation/response to hitting abilities and the like. Its a pass from me for sure.
I'm in the full on beta, it's by far the worst iteration of a MOBA I've ever played. The skills are unoriginal and bland, skill shots somehow miss when going directly through someone, there is no consequence at all since you can easily get away from players due to the lack of lock down, everything's toned down to be equal just like LoL to support low skill level players. The items are all passives with no clickies because god forbid players have to think to do something. I played a couple games, one as wonder woman, one as Joke, one as Zatanna. Easily shit stomped the other team all while my team was of course spamming obscenities in party and there's no report/ignore feature. As a DOTA player the responses were fine, the animations were fine except sometimes they would desynch from your character and be running all fucking cock eye and weird. The fog of war makes no sense.
3/10, easily the worst moba I've ever played.
Edit: fucking lol @ the deny question. Not even close, there's not even a point in last hitting, it drops coins on the ground if you don't get the last hit that are worth the same amount as the last hit. It's super fucking casual mode.
it drops gold on the ground that needs to be picked up?
so can be denied? that sounds interesting. and more dynamic then last hits.
Can anyone pick it up? enemies, allies, or just you?
Although would make stealing harder. and give favor to melee. which is possibly good given the ranged AD advantage in other mobas..
If anyone can pick it up, that sounds pretty amazing for dynamics. entire skill sets around pulling gold to you, or in general dealing with gold on the ground, could be made...
From what I saw, I could only see gold that my mobs generated (I.E. My creep killed their creep, gold coin on ground). Last hitting and autoattacking is fucking atrocious as well, it follows the LoL principals of "You must use spells to last hit"
That's seriously a thing? You need to use spells? I haven't played it in a long time, but I don't remember that. Of course, I wasn't very good at it.
Making a profit is the point. Being king of the mountain is just the cherry on top.
LoL broke open a new form of business model. And really pushed the Esport thing like no other.
the game itself also improved many mechanics. but really it was the ftp model and esports that made it the success it is. The constant retooling of champs is often cited by devs as being phenomenal balance design, although I would also suggest, that is not a key to its success.
I do find it amusing how we went years with no one capitalizing on the success of Dota, then suddenly boom. everywhere.
Bummer on the gold in practice. on paper that sounds like a more dynamic system.
it would also allow for preventing, accidental kill steals by supports, etc. game itself sounds bad, so its not unexpected that a good idea, might be fucked in practice.
There's literally nothing that LoL does better than DOTA. You live in an imaginary world if you think that's true.
Edit: The Tribunal is better than DOTA's report system. I'll concede there.
Turbine, eh? So.... stutter, stutter, stutter, hitch, stutter, hitch?
Said I would report back so here is my analysis ... DO NOT BUY!
My first 10 minutes in the game I hated it so much that I said I would never play it again. Then I felt bad and figured I needed to give it a shot, put some time in on GL as he is my favorite DC Hero. This game almost made me start to hate my favorite super hero. To me the game is very imbalanced and boring, I don't know if this how all MOBAs because I don't play them. Can't imagine that is true though because of their popularity, then again shitty Facebook games are popular too. Not gonna judge all MOBAs from this one, but I will say this one sucks.
Saying all MOBAs suck because this game sucked is like going to a prison cafeteria and eating the "mystery" meat and saying Filet Mingnon is disgusting.
That map... haha. Is their main mode a dominion derivative or something?
Beta Keys ...
The first 4 were sent to me in October not sure if they work still, the last one was sent to me just a few days ago.
EDIT: Going to give this another shot since I understand MOBAs a little bit more now.

Yeah, still bad.
just redeemed ERWHTF9ZEA779AQ3YKZ9ADR4Q, thanks Oblio...or fuck you (depending on if it's still bad )
Yeah, I probably deserved that.
so, finally got around to giving this a shot.
watching another TB vid talking about playing smite, got me to get around to trying a few of the moba's in the "to do" list.
Was not super impressed with Smite honestly. im just not really seeing what the first person point of view brings.
This however, had really good first impressions for me.
This definitely has the best gold mechanic.
I don't know wth Sutekh was talking about way back then.
If you last hit a minion you get gold immediately.
if you do not last hit a minion, the gold drops on the ground. The value of that gold starts at 50% of last hit value. And I think it reduces more over time. (not certain on that yet.)
Gold is shared with allies in the area. (not certain if equal share yet, or how its spread.)
Gold on the ground can be grabbed by either team. if you tag the other teams, its destroyed.
Basic attacks and spells work for gold collection.
itemization seems more linear. you buy an item and upgrade it along one path. Base items do not branch. there are lots of effects, and there are also a good amount of active skills. that statement was also way off.
UI seems rough at first glance. targeting and hp is not clear as it should be.
"summoner skills" having variants based on the characters is neat.
Anyone still playing this?
Adding some more thoughts.
Towers also have an added functionality. you can shop at them. however, they do not heal, replenish potions, or wards.
Adds a small dynamic in. Allows you to stay in lane longer when rich. but still requires going back for some things, as well as, controlling towers is a greater importance.
there are environment interactions as well. limited. but there. cars blocking paths, which can be picked up and throw with the right summoner skills. or consumed, etc.
Strategically placed. not like dota's trees everywhere. good idea. not sure its incorporated perfectly in my limited time.
Game doesn't seem to have "boots". there is a "blink dagger".

Game is gonna be dead in the water unfortunately. I rather liked it, but it's never gonna draw enough players from the league/dota/hots crowd. It's rather a shame, because the game is fun, the visuals are good, some of the alternate universe heroes are awesome (atomoic wonder woman etc), and the audio is fucking out of this world. Just don't think DC has the IP pull to give this legs.
Didn't see this posted anywhere else. It's shutting down Aug. 14, 2015. Sucks for Turbine because I don't really want to see them die, but this may do it.

Damn, this thing didn't even last 3 months before they pulled the plug. The MOBA cash-in train is derailing.
A lot of people pissed off in the forum, but rightfully so I suppose. Imagine you had bought a founders pack for this.

Someone on the Heroes of the Storm reddit said he was a pro in IC and the pro scene was so small he could just play casually be still be at the top of the heap. The finals between NA and EU had a 25k prize pool and combined for 300 viewers.
Someone (I think Bjergsen from League) was commenting on how the not so good players on other league servers such as EUW who couldn't turn pro went to games like Infinite Crisis and became top talent. Just found it interesting how others pros view these offshoot moba pros. I know I don't hear them trashing DoTA pros like that. How long did Dawngate last before they closed it down? Longer than them right?
They don't trash DOTA pros because LoL is the offshoot of DOTA so they themselves (or at least their predecessors) are the ones who couldn't make it at DOTA so went to League
