I recently decided to switch careers after being on the same job for over 15 years. I applied to this one company and I have been going through the hiring process. It started from an online questionnaire to 2 interviews. The last interview I went on I had to speak to a business psychologist who asked me numerous question about my work history and how would I handle certain situations on the job. I also had to fill out an background check approval form allowing them to do a background check on me. I'm sure to do a background check costs a nice sum of money. I asked the lady in HR what happens after this interview and she told me I should expect something in the mail within 2 to 3 weeks. Again I haven't been on an interview for over 15 years so the hiring process is very different for what I went through. I went of one interview and I was hired. This job is a series of process of elimination and they plan on hiring over 50 new employees. My question is since they are wanting to do a background check on me does that means there is a chance of me getting hired?
Unless you set off a red flag in the second interview or something they don't like hits the background check the odds are def in your favor. I assume the next contact will be a drug screen.

Well I got my 3rd and final interview next week with the president of the company. Hopefully everything goes well!
Good luck with the job dude. Bottom line is any kind of check costs money, and they thought enough of you to justify that cost.
