I discovered Aesop Rock, Graveyard Train, Matt Andersen and some bluegrass group I can't remember the name of by lurking this thread on the old forum. It's also the place I first heard Of Monsters and Men, Gotye, Lana Del Rey and some others that became so popular that I would I have heard them anyway.

I've been listening a lot to this new chillwave 80s movement stuff. I love it. I saw these guys this past Saturday in Brooklyn and they were awesome live:

Like that song Khane. I hear a lot of the good parts of 80s pop in there.

Another modern artist whose music hearkens back to the 80s:

    Love me some Phantogram.

Also, just wrap the video link in the video tag with the brackets around it to embed (There's an "insert video" button as well)

This isn't a song, but I've been using http://www.rainymood.com/ lately. Simple website that loops rain/light thunder in the background. It's excellent when paired up with chill music. I highly recommend it if you find rain to have a relaxing effect.

New Front Line Assembly stuff is pretty awesome, even if it is the soundtrack for some shitty FTP game.

Don't click if you don't like industrial and a bit of dubstep

Oddly enough I was listening to that last night as well definitely not what I had come to expect from FLA but still a really good release. System Anomaly is another good track.

As for what i'm listening to, a bit of Unknown Error (a.k.a. Apex). Dude's got some good stuff. First video is more laid back, the second one is more rip some shit up :P

That Electric Six video is great.

These guys put out some pretty good stuff:

And there isn't enough folk in this thread, this entire album is one of the best I've heard in years:

Bluegrass. This is some rough practice video of my good friends' band, The High Ground Drifters. They've achieved a bit of notoriety in New Orleans, they're playing Jazz Fest for the second time this year. I've known the fiddler since we were 5 years old. If he played any faster in this clip his violin would've burst into flame.

That is some very traditional bluegrass. 1950s style.

Some blues from a pretty decent guitarist. Wish I was able to see him live when he still played at small clubs.

Can't quit listening to these two sisters. Folk'ish and full of harmonies. And glad to see the mention of Blind Melon. I saw them in '93 at the Orpheum in Memphis. Shannon Hoon was incredible....

This type of music is not my norm, but another similar artist is "A Fine Frenzy". The "Bomb in a Birdcage" album is great front to end. Plus, she isn't hard to look at.

Here's a sample of the album.

This is my flavor of the week. Been really digging their album. Awesome dance rock. They also have a few straight up rock tunes. Seeing them live in March for St. Paddy's.

Mad Season - Side project from Layne Staley from AIC and Mike McCready of pearl jam

Amazing chiptunes. Game itself is kind of fun, but the soundtrack is blowing my mind

It's an older song now, but it's fucking good. Skip to 1:14 for the song.

This one thanks to ham. Took a few listens before it really grew on me, but this song is addictive. It's also one of the most bizarre fucking videos I've ever seen.

This is a solo project of David Sitek of TV On The Radio. Gets me moving Audio fidelity better if you put it on HD.
