Supposedly there is an 'expansion pack' type DLC for single player in the works -- a couple voice actors verified via twitter. Though I've read that the voice actors for male/female Shepard haven't gotten involved.
Euro Gamer Article
Also in the last multi-player patch there were hints about a new DLC 'Reckoning,' that will have co-op multiplayer that uses your save progress and paragon/renegade values. This next chunk of DLC will feature eight writers, Seth Green, Kaiden voice-actor Raphael Sbarge, and presumably everyone else, suggesting a grand finale before the inevitable Mass Effect 4.
PC Gamer Article"The day of reckoning is nigh! The Reckoning Multiplayer Expansion brings six new never before seen co-op story missions to the game and new co-op gameplay modes. It provides four new maps to conquer and hazard variations of the Earth maps. It also enables reinforcement packs that offer new kits for the salarians, krogans, humans and volus. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons (Chakram Launcher, Blood Pack Punisher and Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle)."
Also, the voice actor for Zaeed died a few days ago.

God fuck this game and fuck you for making this thread. Anyone who supports this piece of shit needs to be banned from gaming.
Mass Effect 3 was disappointing but it doesn't deserve half the amount of hate so much of this board harbors for it.
Another DLC? I can understand that and would imagine it to be the last breath of air in the game's unwinding.
Mass Effect 4 though? I thought we were done here. Does ME4 have a green light?
I've never understood all the hate against ME3. Still surprised everyone thought at the end there would be some massively different ending based on all your choices throughout the series - I was fairly sure the ending was going to be predictable like most movies in Hollywood. I was ok with the ending mainly because I enjoyed the hell out of all three games. Not trolling - seriously wasn't a big deal for me because I liked the game mechanics, had plenty to do through 3 games, and felt the ending cinematics etc made sense. Sure a little bit of a cop out, but I wasn't so irate about it that I wanted to burn down EA like 9/10 of the gaming community.
It's not that the ending wasn't supposed to be predictable. I'm pretty sure everybody with half of a brain knew that it would be. You were delusional if you thought that your choices would be that impactful. The issue was with the fact that the endings made exactly 0 sense, especially considering everything we had been told prior, in the previous 2 games. Then when you couple that with the fact that you didn't get to see even a smidgen of the "outcome" of your choices after the war, it just made for a completely horrible, unfinished ending.
Funny to see everyone and their mother hopping onto the coop bandwagon now when tons of gamers have been screaming their lungs out to have it in more games ever since Duke 3D.
I played a shit ton of ME1 and ME2 with 2 being my clear favorite. But ME3 I didn't enjoy near as much. Basically, if you're still defending ME3 or Bioware after what they did with having every squaddie from ME2 being shitty side characters, that shit ending, or that shit they pulled with Nyreen from the Omega DLC you're an asshole.
ME4 will be dogshit.
Some of you guys are fucking crybabies.
I think ME1 was the best of the series, but to say ME3 was just an abomination or something is dumb.
ME4 should be a good game as the Mass Effect universe is actually a very interesting setting for almost any type of game. So I think they will have no problem selling it as long as the quality is comparable to ME1 in both story and scope. They wont be able to just rely on "THE CREATORS OF MASS EFFECT" as the game will have a new name. If it is on par or worse than 3 then I think people have the right to bitch.
But unsatisfying ending or not, the Mass Effect trilogy was a HUGE success.
If it is on par with 3 without the shitty ending it will be a good to great game.
It will be nice to have a new main character and crew. The only one I wish could be in the next iteration is Wrex.
Any game with a deep, engaging story with A+ voice actors and great inter-character dialogue is a rare and wonderful treasure.
God forbid they fuck it up with a star child from left field and a red/blue/green light ending.
ME3 was like a great dessert to finish an incredible meal.
With shit sprinkles on top and diarrhea to wash it down.
They fucked up more than just the ending with ME3. To rehash discussions that have been had a million times before, Kai Leng, Vega, and the sudden drastic way they changed directions on the Geth were all just as bad as the ending. The ending just gets all the blame because all three games were building up to this ending and the garbage they went with kinda let all the air out of the entire series.
The game-play was indeed pretty damn intense at points, but about 50% of the story in ME3 was just garbage.
The ending to ME3 was bad. Bioware's reaction to the criticism was the salt in the wound.
Yeah there was a bit more wrong with ME3 than just the ending.
The whole tuchanka arc was grade-fucking-A, but not much else was of the same caliber. Not to say the rest sucked, but yea.
ME1 is still my favorite, minus the fucking bowling ball on a skateboard operating Mako. Christ I hate that car.
That said, I liked the leviathan DLC, but did not buy the Omega one. I imagine that if so many of the other actors are back, Mark and Jennifer will be too. If it's actually taking into account shit that you did, with your whole crew, I'll be down.
I still love the shit out of Mass Effect. Just because Casey hudson and co flipped out because the dark matter shit got leaked and changed it, doesn't mean it still wasn't an epic series. Will I support mass effect in the future? Hard to say; the way that entire operation went down was ludicrous - they tried to make the playerbase feel like an idiot for not getting the endings, or for not enjoying the series end. Well, fuck you very much.
I will probably still give this DLC a try though, as a last hurrah. (As long as it gets relatively decent reviews.)
Just stop supporting shitty publishers and developers.

give up Phoenix. they will never learn. See how many are willing to buy Simcity
I agree with Alex. I thought it was decent until the end. It's not like there is a huge trove of good games out there. If there is a standard that sets ME3 as complete shit, then most of the other games are terrible too. I've yet to play a game I didn't take issue with.
I agree that some parts of ME 3 were a letdown. Im not saying it was a masterpiece at all, but it wasnt a complete failure.
I think we can all agree that Tuchanka was awesome. There were other small highlights littered throughout but my problem wasnt so much with the story but the lack of polish. I hate how some clusters are absent art. How hard is it to have a picture of space dust? I dont want to bitch though, hopefully ME4 or whatever its called makes up for any shorcommings with 3.
Although, I think people need to step back and realize how hard it is to make 3 successful games in a row. ME1 was an incredible game. It was hard to live up to, but they did with ME2. To then surpass ME2 was asking a hell of alot. I dont think they did, but still, it wasnt a total failure. I dont know, Im kind of a space nerd though so Im slightly biased. I think Im the only one out of all my friends that actually read all the codex logs and interact with every possible character.
I'm still confused about why ME2 got a complete pass on dumbing down the rpg and exploration elements of the game. I guess I need to play it at some point to understand. The reviews for ME2 were insanely high and you couldn't find a mention of how much they dumbed down everything in 99% of them.
By exploration elements you mean trying to get the Mako over a hill for 10 minutes?
Mass Effect 3 was tits outside the ending (which I would've preferred even a Dragon Age style run down of what happened to everybody storybook instead of the star child shit). Leviathan was a cool DLC, and Omega was decent.
Really the best part of Mass Effect 3 to me turned out to be the multiplayer though. It's just fun.
I just don't get it. I'm definitely open to being wrong though if I'm missing something. I pretty much wrote off the game since I was getting sick of rpgs being dumbed down and really wanted to see improvements on the previous systems, not just scrapping them because people complained about how they were implemented.

I hate to say it, but I think it is pretty safe to assume that the Bioware responsible for Mass Effect 1 is long dead and buried along with a lot of the folks responsible for the games. Anything that comes out in the future will most likely be EA just exploiting the Bioware brand until they are completely destroyed.
Sucks I would have liked to play some actual quality ongoing games.
I have been thinking about trying out the multiplayer again though.
It's still pretty fun when you can find a game.
Driving the mako was fucking awesome and I'd love for an open world/sandbox space exploration game that involved a flight sim + mako sim + on foot exploration like ME1's planetary exploration.
I think a lot of the replayability of ME1-2 had a lot to do with setting up your Shepard for the conclusion in ME3. Had ME3 just been another cog in a longer series (not the ending of a trilogy), it would have gone over a little better and probably had more replayability as far as the single player experience goes.
Personally, I only played through ME3 once and put more time into the multiplayer than anything, because I like the gameplay and mechanics. The pack unlocks et al were decent enough carrots for me to keep plugging away and they've added quite a bit of content to the MP portion of the game. Like Bixxby said, if you can find a game now, it's still fun and there are about 10~ race / ability combos for each class now.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't shocked that the DLC for ME3 was overpriced and subpar (reviews were not kind to either Leviathan or Omega), but I will pick them up if they go on sale with the next larger DLC they release. Unfortunately, they don't exactly have a history of dropping DLC prices very often.
Doesn't help ME3 was the most on-rails game in the trilogy; 1 & 2 felt more like a space-sandbox-epic, with just the story on-rails. /endrant
Outside Tuchunka, ME3 was average at best and had lots of shit in it. Hell just the whole big fuck you with Javik is more than enough reason to not support anymore ME titles.
What big fuck you with Javik?
That really needs a explanation? Major DLC content day one of the game that also happens to be about one of the central story elements of the series?
Oh yeah I forgot about that. iirc I pirated a russian version that unlocked hours before my purchased one unlocked and came with Javik. That was such an overstep of DLC content given how closely intertwined Javik's content was with the game. iirc they decided they couldn't finish it and release in time so they stripped it out, sent it to B team to finish and then focused on the rest of the game. B team finished polishing it by the time the game actually came out...
They should've just made it free DLC.
ME3 was crap in comparison to its predecessors. Unless the 'expansion' pretty much does away with the ending by pulling a 'loljk, disregard that' then I really don't care.
Honestly, if I pretend this happens after the ending, it will make me happy.
I get to furnish my own apartment, fuck yea.
If anyone still plays ME3 multiplayer:
New DLC trailer is out.
15 bucks seems like a lot to have sex with your love interest again. but it does have Zaeed and Wrex in it.
I'd pay 15 bucks if they can make my character I worked so long on make some fucking sense.
My character killed the Council and installed Humans as the leader of the Citadel. I was all on board with Cerberus (fuck aliens), was committed to Miranda 100%. I agreed with the Illusive Man in everything he said and handed over to him the most powerful piece of equipment in the Galaxy, not to mention that crazy alien from the 1st mission.
Basically in Mass Effect 3, they assumed no one would do that? Miranda story made no sense. Saving the galaxy aboard the safest ship with the one guy who will protect you is a bad idea. And the Illusive Man and I must of got drunk and Wobbly H'd some hooker and crossed swords because him hating me and vice versa made no sense either.

I want to play as the random violence guys.
Welp I'm re-installing this because I have nothing else to play.
I've only played as a few of the new characters - the Geth Juggernaut is the best tank by far (probably the only true tank since it can't be one shot by sync kills), and the Awakened Collector is an interesting glass cannon. I guess I'll find out about the rest if the RNG ever decides to be kind, the Krogan with a hammer and EDI clone look like they could be a lot of fun. The new weapons seem a bit uninteresting, although I haven't unlocked any of the "good" ones to really form an opinion.
If you've never played before, or stopped playing before they added the Collectors, it's definitely worth a look.
We had a pretty lengthy discussion about it in chat waiting for SimShitty. You can also play as the volus, vorcha, etc.
There are about 10 race/ability combos per class now with lots of abilities that weren't in-game before and new mobs.
Really like that trailer. It's why I hate how much ME3 sucked - the entire series was an emotional ride. I'm looking forward to this DLC, (though I'll be working hard to squeeze it in with SimCity, replay of SC2 for HOTS, maxing Fire Emblem and 5.2 WoW patch) because I have a feeling that at the very least, it will be the bittersweet goodbye to the series I wanted, not the WTF plot holes? ending I received.
The flashes of the apartment you get in that trailer look plush as fuck too.
But... you can still faceroll any gold map if you have 2+ geth juggernauts and you play against cerberus or the geth. They're OP as shit.
Ermagerd. Krogan Warlord is by far the most fun I've ever had with ME3 multiplayer. I mean I had fun with the Krogan Vanguard when it was first released, but it was nothing compared to how much fun this shit is. Running around on silver meleeing brutes and banshees to death lol.
So what packs should I be getting? Just stick with premium spectres, or start getting the character packs instead? I'd generally prefer to have most/all the classes unlocked, but if premium spectre packs are more efficient in the long run I can stick with those.
Last edited by Sparklerad; 03-05-2013 at 07:09 PM.
Maybe budos or someone can clarify but if you're looking at long-term efficiency I'd go with whatever gives you the highest chance to get black weapons. That assumes you actually want the black weapons. I know when I played the black widow was by far the best infiltrator weapon.
If there's a character you want to unlock, get reserves, if you love weapons (I don't -- I use a Predator X on just about everything I play), get arsenals. Premium spectres if you want general shit.
Yeah I think I have every super rare EXCEPT the fucking black widow at this point.
to clarify, I played a LOT up until and for a while after the first free dlc pack where they added new classes. I've got most rare weapons somewhere between 7-10. Got my first rare equipment slot today though, so if those come from premium specs I'll stick with them. Most rare weapons that were released back then that is.
Last edited by Sparklerad; 03-05-2013 at 08:04 PM.
But yeah, definitely stick with the regular premium spectres, they won't do you wrong very often.
Edit: Also, you might want to farm reserve packs until you get the Geth Jugg -- you are seriously a god when you play it. So much fun.
I'll hop on and play with you tomorrow after I get over the SimCity nerd olympics.
17 minute silvers with 3 warlords and a jugg. huehuehue
Did they make the game harder or something? I'm just surprised that people farm silvers. Back when I played 20m golds were my goal.
Yes. Cerberus and Geth both got an additional unit, the Geth unit in particular is very good at busting up camps. Decoy got nerfed. They also added Collectors, I've only fought them once so it's hard to judge how hard they are compared to the rest. Golds in a pug were always a horrible chore if you weren't just facerolling FBW. I can't even fathom what kind of masochist tries to run platinums without a premade.
Silver does seem easier than it used to be, or maybe thats because all the max level pugs are running silvers now instead of FBW gold.
If you aren't doing XP -- the best combo I've found is FBGlacier / Cerberus. I clear that as a Jug in 14m on silver.
DLC is pretty good - the apartment is awesome and you get memorable lines pretty early into it. A little bit of misty eye-ness as you cruise through it too. Haven't finished yet since a bunch of stuff came out today, but I like it thus far.
I think silver's gotten easier because they've nerfed some of the races. The Geth stunlock nerf, for example, makes them almost trivial.
So..let me just say...
The citadel DLC was amazing. The arena thing is great; that in and of itself is a huge amount of content. Tons of enemies to fight, people to take with you, prizes you get to change the fights (removing things like medi gel, ammo, increasing enemy difficulty etc, basically it's a pve multiplayer except with a lot more customization) plus all the arcade stuff you can play around with.
There is a significant amount of content in this DLC; it's worth the 15 bucks. There was shit tons of humor, lots of funny lines and memorable moments...I was giggling at some parts and getting misty eyed at others. It actually goes back and closes some gaps it left in other games, or shows you things you weren't around for.
You get to say goodbye to just about everyone, including people who aren't around in your game anymore.
Overall, a fantastic bit of DLC. I'm nutty when it comes to little pieces like this; it doesn't change the ending but I actually got to say goodbye to people, and understand a bit more what they will do after I save the galaxy.

Sweet, was surprised by the 3.5 gig size, glad it's good.
Why are you guys still supporting Bioware/EA after the piece of shit that was ME3?
ME3 was a good game, the ending was the bad part.
Acceptable to nosedive a story, ignore established canon and motives, wall-up behind "artistic integrity", denigrate a series fanbase, then make a last ditch money grab after they're painted into a corner.
All that aside, the DLC does look very enticing. I know I would enjoy playing through it, but I personally can't bring myself to support a company that has told its fans to fuck off after two major releases (DA2/ME3).

Ok, can we not start beating this dead fucking horse for the thousandth time? We really don't need to trot out that whole goddamn conversation again about what specifically people think was good or bad about ME3, people complaining about the evils of EA and/or Bioware, blah blah fucking blah.
Comes into ME3 thread
Bitches about people talking about ME3
Without beating the dead horse, part of the reason people were upset is that you build relationships with characters for 3 games and then whamp. A whole lot of nothing. At the very least, this fixes that part.
Also, realize that while ME3 was not 100% the whole game, the shittiest part was the ending, and that was solely Casey Hudson and Mac Walters, after they freaked over the leaked ending. (That's legitimate, it's not rumor anymore.) Not everyone at EA/Bioware sucks donkey dick, so a chance to say goodbye to the characters I've loved and fought with, and give another chance to the others at the studio? Sounds good.
The DLC was very worth it though. Maybe I'm too sentimental but it was great. It gets a bit cheesy here and there, as you can tell they were going for maximum uh, pop I guess when it comes to the goodbye, but overall, it was great.
The trailer was good, but female shepard delivering all of those lines instead was way better.
Edit: Also Garrus impersonating Liara is lol.

Can we change the name to Gavinrad's forums then? Because you don't get to decide what is discussed in the ME3 thread. Sorry that ME3 being the worst sequel of the year rustles your jimmies, but it fucking sucked. It's not ancient history.
DLC is ok, not 15$ good, but we're all desperate for anything good from ME3 after the main campaign.
Person A: Man this game was fucking awful why do you guys even talk about it anymore
Person B: Actually the game was fucking amazing aside from the ending
Person C: Actually several other sections of the game sucked aside from the ending
repeat ad infinitum et nauseum. But yeah, me not wanting to see that conversation for the hundredth time is definitely me trying to decide what we discuss, and renaming the forums after me is a fantastic idea, I'll get Sean on top of it right now.
Dead horse? Bioware is still trying to cash in on their horrible piece of shit game.Do me a favor and pull your head out of your ass. Because it's basically beating the ghost of a dead horse at this point.
