I'm still angry they wont let me play Suikoden on my Vita.
So I got a bunch of Sony PSN Cards for Christmas and picked up Persona 4 Gold and I really love this game. Great music, Great Characters, and best of all it's an turn-based RPG!
I wish they would have ported it to the PS3 too because cross-play for this game would have made it even more kick ass!
I also have a question. Why do people get such a hard-on for Chie? I prefer Rise or Yukiko.
I made a general Vita thread instead of a Persona 4 Gold thread because I'm not sure it would get enough posts to justify it's own thread and I felt all the Vita talk could fit into one thread easily.
I'm still angry they wont let me play Suikoden on my Vita.
Aren't 1st gen Vitas going to be dropping in price for the 2nd gen Vitas? Anyone know a timeframe for that other than sometime in 2013?
what are the 2nd gens going to offer? Maybe they should worry about releasing some gosh damn games for it before they make a second generation version.
Just finished P4G over the weekend and this is for sure my #1 all-time turned based RPG. It is definitely one of the greatest RPG's ever made. 95 hours and I maxed all but two social links. I definitely got my $40 worth out of that game and my Vita. Now on to Little Big Planet Vita!
I never liked the persona series.. love the other SMT games, but.. persona is a big nope! can't stand the whole timeframe/choices that series has
On another note, i'd really like to hear SOMETHING about some new games in the future, FFX HD, Soul Sacrifice etc.. bah. C'mon Sony
Just grabbed a vita for my b-day with LBP, grabbed FF5-9 from the sale and have a few games like Uncharted etc from psn+ membership...will also be grabbing P4G at the end of the month when it's released and will get Lumines and Wipeout fron psn+ this month but am wondering if there is anything else I need to get as I'm not seeing a lot worth having really.
Am a ridge racer fan from ps1 days so is it worth grabbing. or motorstorm rc? Those seem to be the only other two games that I look at and thing I need to have.
Ragarock tactics if you like the FFT style gameplay.
What's this about second gen Vita's? Been debating grabbing one to take advantage of the PS+ titles (and the old FF's which I can't stand on a 60" Plasma - pixelation is too much with that screensize) but curious to see a link on what the new ones are adjusting. (And yes, I've been tagging Vita titles so they're locked to my account for PS+ even if they cycle them - no need to warn me)
So Amazon has a $50.00 gift card with the purchase of a Vita promotion going on. I finally gave in and ordered one alone with Persona 4 Gold. Looking forward to getting my hands on it. I'm guessing a price drop is coming after E3 so Amazon is buffering it by giving the gift card so people who just bought one don't end up crying about it in a couple months.
I'd like to get a Vita at some point, but those memory card prices are fucking mind-bottling. That bullshit needs to drop something fierce. Hopefully Sony pulls their heads out of their asses and does some major price cuts at E3.
Yeah, I'm heavy into P4G right now and if you're even remotely into JRPGs, it's a really good one.
Are they going to ship a new model of these before ps4 hits? I'm tempted to get one now.
Ragefire - Snatty / Vlett

Kinda wish they did, though I'll have probably bought one by then. Work in double bumpers and clickable sticks so you have button-parity with the Dual Shock 4 and sell it for $200 with some PSN+ incentives. Instead maybe an accessory that attaches to the current Vita to add the Move sensor, rumble, and the 2nd set of bumpers could maybe work too.
Only really expecting new bundles though.
Damn gonna have to pickup P4A, so far wipeout is pretty fun.
Just ordered a Vita with Persona 4 Gold and Little Big Planet. Hopefully I don't regret it.
Pretty much why I bought it so hopefully they make good use of it.
That Vita deal would be more appealing if it was a bundle that included a memory card.
Hoping and praying for some sort of CFW for the Vita a-la PSP. Otherwise, I don't see myself spending the money at this point.
Found one with a 4GB mem card on CL in my area for $125, would that be worth picking up if it isn't beat to hell?
Uh, yeah. That's 50% off and a free memory card(though 4gb is pretty tight). If it's in good condition, it's a deal for sure.
4 days old in my case, hopefully still available. (Although it's a long drive for me to get to his part of MD so wouldn't be too upset missing it either - almost worth the $150 difference to get it shipped to me with how my legs get driving an hour+ like this would be)
This thread has me wishing I hadn't gotten rid of mine now...

The homebrew/emulator stuff on PSP was really awesome, but I'm not sure if I want to risk being unable to connect to PSN, etc on the Vita. Either way, I keep up with the CFW scene.
The ebay auctions for white Vitas are kinda silly, brand new ones get bid up past retail, and then others sit there and go for around $200 with no games. Then the Vita with 32gb memory card and a couple of games gets no bids and expires multiple times at $300 + shipping.
Shooting for a white Vita, around $180, a game or two and memory card. Have just missed on a couple on craigslist, one flaked out and the other sold it just before i texted after waiting too long to pull the trigger.
Heh mine flaked on me thus far too - EBay would be more consistent plus consumer protection, if eBay doesn't work I'll just do retail though $100 won't kill me especially with the wife primarily wanting it since she's the bigger hunk of our money these days.
Even though I'm looking forward to Remote Play actually being useful, I just can't justify buying what amounts to a box to play Persona 4 on (again, since I already own it for PS3). There just isn't enough out for the Vita that I care about at this point.
Managed to snag one for $150 off Craigslist, w/ AC3, Need for Speed and a 4gb card. Screen is fine, but almost looks like someone deliberately scratched up the silver sides. Wonder if I can smooth that out at all.
Mine will be delivered today, I'm sure it's going to go down something like this.
Realized yesterday the scratches are because it's where the s/n was at, lol.
I'm sure I'll try and sand the finish off w/ a dremel or something and repaint that at some point, just to see if I can do it. Will have to make sure those bottom indentions aren't vents or something first though.
Scratched off S/N is illegal in many states last I checked (at least involving a resale) - be careful it might indicate it's "hot" - and make a note of his contact info just in case you ever get a visit because of such so you can at least try to give appropriate breadcrumbs.
On cleaning up the case - I'd go for doing light grade sandpaper by hand rather than Dremel to start off with - pretty sure that case is going to be only a few mils thick and the damage shouldn't be THAT deep from taking off a sticker.
BTW - Cat in the Hat (Thing 1) poster and clutter makes the pic priceless.
Oh and on "identations" - I assume you mean the little cubbies for the stickers? That's just for sticker placement, no venting - if you're talking ports thats a 3.5mm headphone jack and power/sync cable no?

Yeah, scratched serials are almost always because it's hot.
I was an Application Support Specialist, so we had ASS 1 and ASS 2 signs (rather than Thing 1 and Thing 2 ). Now that I'm a lead my boss when I was promoted managed to twist Application Support Lead into ASshoLe, lol. The green bag it's on was just given out at a wellness fair downstairs... the art on it is how to survive a zombie apocalypse, and the clutter on the desk in the picture includes 5 shot glasses amongst the pens, candy, etc. A sample of the silliness at Zappos.
If my Google Fu is accurate, looks like I'm good as far as owning the thing, as long as I don't buy make a habit out of it.

The top is almost as fucked up, and the silver on it seems to be about as thick as a sticker, yeah. Feels like all of the silver would need to be removed, something put over the buttons to protect them and paint the entire edge of the case once the scratches are smoothed out a bit.

how the hell do you scratch up the top that bad? I bet if you look around you might be able to find the paint code for that silver.
Anyone have any recommendations for a case and trigger grips? I'm looking for something that will hold the power plug and PS Vita, games aren't a big issue since most of the stuff I get will be downloaded. I was looking at this case and this trigger grip but I have no idea if they are worth a shit.
I bought this case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Cheap as hell price and I'm impressed at the quality. I haven't tried to fit the power cord, but I think it will fit. I'll try tonight when I'm home.
I made a thread about P4G a while ago, hell might have been on FOH. Anyways, yea love my Vita, glad I didn't get rid of it with remote play coming to PS4. Mortal Kombat was ok on the Vita, atleast a good time killer at work. Stardust or whatever is pretty fun too. I picked up Castlevania: SOTN, FF6-9 as well during the sale. I want a bigger memory card too and refuse to pay 100$ for the damn 32 gig one. But I guess with the ability to save to the ps3/pc with the save files and shit my 8 gig is big enough. Gravity was supposedly really good and is free with PSN+ atm so tagged that to dl eventually too as well. I think UC for vita is free right now too.
*Edit* To add in the others games I played. MGS:HD collection was good, so was Raymond Legends. As a side note I wanted to pick up Ninja Gaiden but was afraid I'd end up smashing my vita when I started getting frustrated (Never beat it on Xbox fuck those raptors and the tentacle rape monster). Also to get back to the P4G discussion was the first in the series I played and I'm glad it was, love the shit out of that game, the cutscenes and script were hillarious. Have you guys played NG+ yet?

Thanks for the info on the trigger grips, I think I'm going to pick them up.
So far I'm loving the system but I really hate that they put so much touch integrated bullshit into the games just because they can, I hate putting fingerprints all over the gd screen while playing uncharted. How did they think that was a good idea?
One of two things:
1) gotta justify putting the tech in
2) marketing says thats what the kids want these days.
I feel the touch controls detract from the games, especially when they are forced in.

hell yea. bought another vita for my cousin and a 32gb from amazon. amazon was 72-73. this saved me 30+. thanks!!!
I'm hoping these sales on the 32GB cards are indicative of a permanent price drop after the holidays.
Damn, thats a fine deal right there. Considering I bought my sons 8gb for like $19.99 this summer when he got his Vita. Fucking sony and their proprietary memory bullshit.
Amazon.com: SanDisk Ultra 32 GB MicroSDHC C10/UHS1 Memory Card with Adapter (SDSDQU-032G-AFFP-A): Electronics
Now THAT'S a good deal. 3DS users, get one. (Yes I know this doesn't apply to VITA's... it just amazes me that people think 40 is a good deal when they were ripped off to begin with)
For everyone else it's a great fucking deal.

PS Vita is pretty awesome for remote play when I want to play while the wife watches her shows however I would LOVE if Sony could just allow the PS4 Dualshock controller to continue to be enabled when using remote play!

I posted this there, but I will here as well.
If you sign onto a 2nd account on your playstation 4, then use the vita to remote play onto it, you can then use the dual shock and log back into your primary account, which will then let you play with the vita using the dual shock 4.
And just in case Sony *fixes* this I'm turning Automatic updates off for my Vita.

I hope Sony actually implements that "bug" to be a feature. Does signing into a 'sub account' mean that I don't get trophies on my main PSN account?
I wonder if this would hold a Vita.

Ordered my Vita today, went with the 3G/Wifi model. Anyone here have any experience with ATT for the Vita? Im a lifelong Verizon customer for wireless, so not really sure what to expect.
1. If you have a grandfathered plan then you can't choose the $10 mobile share add-on option without giving it up. That's an automatic no-go for me.
2. If you have do not have an AT&T plan or don't want to change yours then you can pay $30/month for vita 3G access. (250MBs for $15 or 3GBs for $30)
Now considering that many of the vita games are a couple of GB's big you sure as hell never want to use your ultra limited cap for downloading a game.
Why You Shouldnt Buy a 3G PS Vita - IGN
So you're essentially paying AT&T $30's to send IM's to PS4 players and check leaderboard scores...In order to regulate network strain, AT&T and Sony will only allow for basic functions to be accessed over 3G, such as web browsing, PSN messaging, asynchronous multiplayer (i.e. turn-based games) and leaderboard access. If users want to play with other players online in realtime or download a larger game (assumed to be 20MBs or more) from the PSN, they will be required to connect to a Wi-Fi network. While the ability to message friends over the PSN and check leaderboard scores anytime, anywhere is certainly helpful, we'd hardly consider it worth the added monthly expense.

So it is kind of the same as all the 3g nooks and ebook readers etc- the "cell" data on them is JUST for downloading ebooks etc from the stores, not even for web on the ebooks- no monthly fee either just the inital charge.
I would have been fine with a couple of different deals like you should get 1 free download* a month via 3G (free DOWNLOAD not free game) so long as you have PS Plus. They should charge a flat $15 fee for all you can eat iNet access. Not sure what the hell they expect people to be doing on their vita's anyway. 15$/mo would still probably be to much for that.
I find it depressing that FF5 isn't patched to play on the vita.. every other version is though
Thinking of getting one for my 9 year old for Christmas, Is it any good? What games would people recomend? He loves football so will get him Fifa and he likes the lego games so will get the new lord of the rings one, any other decent kid games on it?
Injustice Gods Among Us is one of the best games I've played in years...OMG
Saw this at work today, can import a 64GB memory card for ~100 or so
Sony Playstation Vita - Carte Mmoire 64Go - import du Japon

Guy from my work said he ordered one and got it a couple days ago so thought I would pass it along. i;m probable going to buy one here in a day or two and can report back.
I was curious what absurd price they are trying to charge for a 64GB card so I took a look. You can switch the language to English and currency to dollars at the top of that page. It comes to $105 with FedEx shipping. Better than the other sizes, but still gouging to an extreme compared to what that card is really worth.
I really have to wonder how much of the Vita's 'failure' can be attributed to Sony's insistence on gouging on memory cards. It was definitely the number one reason I never bought one even after a few games I really wanted to play came out--especially when you consider that PS+ gives away Vita games while Sony bends you over if you actually want enough storage to be able to download them.

I got a vita for $90 from tigerdirect, haven't opened it yet and not sure if it comes with a 4gb card or not (its the 3g+wifi model). amazon took about a week to ship out the 16gb card they are selling for $20, its oos most of the time but you can still order it.
Do you really need that much memory? I only bought the vita because it was so cheap and I have a 3 year PS+ sub now, but I figure i'll just download the games, play em, then delete em. I assume with PS+ as long as your sub is active you can just redownload and play if you ever really want to, like steam. do card games play off the memory card like ps4 or do they play off the card, like 3ds?
I also ordered persona 4 for $20 from amazon like 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped did get tearaway for $20 too so should be good for a while.
cartridges play off the cartridge ala 3DS, but some still require quite a bit of space for a faux install
you don't need 32gbs.. but you should absolutely upgrade to at least 16gbs if you want to hold more than like 2 or 3 games.
I've already run out of space on my 32GB thanks to PS+. Have had to delete games several times to make room.
I too suffer from that 1st world problem ;(
too many games, my card can't handle them all
I have the 8GB and it's fine for someone who doesn't need to A) be playing 8 games at a time and B) takes forever to finish the games I am playing. Granted, the main game I've been playing is P4G and I actually bought the physical copy of that, but I still have Disgaia 3, Gravity Rush, Zero Escape, Hotline Miami and Terraria on the 8gb card. None of those are huge games, though. I think the Uncharted game was like 3gb+ alone.
with every single free ps+ game available right now (about 6 to 8 depending on the f2p games) my 16gb vita card has 3 gigs free. I didn't realize vita games were that big. Most however are pretty shitty or far better on the PC version, the only game I have really enjoyed playing so far is drake's, haven't tried sonic or gravity yet (already played hotline miami on pc) but a few people on cag have said the PC version of sonic is far far better. soul sacrifice goes off free on 12/31 so download that if you haven't.
gamestop is selling 16gb cards tomorrow for $20 if you really need another one, I think I'll just delete stuff and wait for a $30-40 sale on a 32gb card. vita UI is ok, at least its nice that it charges off my ps4 when its on standby. I definitely prefer the 3ds to vita, not in terms of hardware but just the few 3ds games I have sucked me in immediately whereas the vita games all feel like "wtf is this shit..." if it wasn't for the free game every few weeks on ps+ I probably would just give my vita away to a relative.
also is there a way to configure ps4 remote play to always just work with a single ps4? I have to type in that code on the ps4 every time, which sucks because I wanna just play sometimes for 5 minutes in the throne room, turning the ps4 on and running is ok but not waiting for boot and code entry.

Have you tried the demo of Open Me! (?) It's a really interesting idea... kind of turns your Vita into a window that you view the world through that "sees" these different boxes, and you need to figure out how to open them up.
I dig the idea.
Yup, only had to set up the Vita once.
new game added to ps+ for vita today, some dirt bike racing game i guess? can add to cart (free) here and checkout and download on vita at your leisure later
vita works fine with ps4 now, dunno why it was having problems last month but used it a few times since then with no hiccups.
kinda wish I had waiting for the new model with microUSB power cord though, whose the fucker who designed this power cord. my vita wasn't charging at all this week, couldn't figure out what the fuck was going, turns out I plugged the cord in upside down into the vita. how the fuck do you design a cable port that lets you plug in a cable upside down and not work
Yeah, that is quite impossible to do on my Vita too. No way I could accidentally do it.
Yeah, I've tried to plug it in, in the dark, many times and you can't put it in upside-down with any normal amount of force. Did you buy used, spronk? Maybe they busted the charging cord.
What the titties, you would have to put some serious force into achieving that
