Magical Girl Amethyst
Starting this Saturday at 10am, DC Nation Restarts with Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice
Young Justice is Episode 10 "Before the Dawn" which was release on the web, but don't think was aired on tv.
11-13 are listed to be on the following 3 weeks.
Green Lantern restarts with Episode 16 "Steam Lantern" followed by 3 more new ones.
no airdates yet for Beware the Batman and Teen Titans Go.
Given that we have the Anti-monitor and that the Steampunk people mentioned a Green Lantern coming and saving them in the past who wore a red cape...
I'm pretty sure that they are doing Crisis on Infinite Earths.
LOL @ Apache Chief on Young Justice this morning
Aya-monitor is hilarious.
Apache Cheif, Samurai being a girl now, El dorado, and Black vulcan was replaced with Static Shock.
The twins haven't been on the show yet iirc, but Wendy and Marvin were in the high school episodes.
So are they going to be replacing Young Justice with Teen Titans Go like they said a few months ago?
GL and YJ aren't really cancelled. just not renewed.
The final 5 episodes will be aired.
Teen Titans GO and Beware the Batman are the next two DC up.
Young Justice didn't sell enough toys . Fucking gay. That is why Teen Titans Go is geared for a younger age.
Legend of Korra supposedly starts up in April. Otherwise CN and WB just fucked themselves in the ass yet again. WB especially seems full on retard when it comes to their cartoons. They cut quality shows like Batman Beyond and JLU and now GL and YJ just when they are starting to be good stories. Focus on the goddamn stories and the ad revenue will be there. Stop making cartoons based on toy sales and go back to stories. That has always been what comics were about. Art and stories.
Hey look at how schizo dc editorial is with gail simone on batgirl. They are beyond fucking stupid
Jesus Fucking Christ
In one goddamn episode the Young Justice writers managed to reboot Apache Chief, Samurai, and El Dorado. Three characters that were complete jokes invented for the 1970s SuperFriends show and they made them cool in a way that the DC Comics New 52 dipshits only wished they could manage. How is it that this gets cancelled why the abortion of storytelling known as Teen Titans, Ravagers, etc. written by Scott Lobdell continue getting published?
Really it is warner brothers treating dc properties short sightedly. the only good titles in the new 52 are all of the Dark group, shit written by jeff lemire and wonder women and maybe aquaman.
Companion comic for Young Justice.
Queen Bee killing Beast boy's mom is dark as hell.
My normal site has really shitty rips for Young Justice starting at the end of Season 1. Is it worth watching the rest of the series and, if so, does anyone know a good place to grab them?
Young justice is great. Definitely watch it.
Yeah, I watched and liked it up through most of Season 1 until they stopped having good quality torrents of it on my site. Just hoping they're wrapping everything up nicely since it sounds like it wasn't renewed.
Someone tell me how Vandal Savage defeats Black Lightning, Black Canary and Captain Marvel all by himself?
I am so angry that Young Justice got jettisoned for lack of toy sales. It is so far superior to the actual product of DC Comics these days its not even funny. I can only imagine what they had planned for a Season 3 if they had gotten one. I somehow suspect it would have involved the New Gods and/or Trigon.
Its my understanding Season 3 was going to go back to episodic, vs that prolonged story of season 2.
Cartoon Network can eat a dick.
I suppose there is some hope that an alternate medium will come around and commission more episodes, clearly they had a larger arc in mind
Teen Titans Go - New Series Promo 1
looks like some bad fan made flash or something.
have been listening to kevin smith's fatman on batman which has good info from dc animated people. some things i have gathered, most shows are either put on for 3 years (at most, 2 years/65 shows with extra orders in final year) and most of the ones that lasted more than 3 years were reformatted/renamed. fairly sure this has to do with voice/etc talent contracts.
one of the writers said in the beginning it was a good studio, but once they built the brand up, they really stop caring.
don't remember exactly when but believe it was before batman beyond came out, they were told, kids no longer watch shows where the hero isn't near their age and they needed to aim in that direction.
seems to explain the downward trend.
i've really enjoyed the Green Lantern series. The big arc of Aiya becoming the Anti-Monitor was really cool and I even enjoyed the emo love story between her and Razor. Hoping for more next season.
Wait, that isn't just the cartoon shorts they're doing during commercial breaks, that's the actual show? Looks horrible.
I have a friend who inks books for DC who seems to think they are planning on more episodes in spite of what has been said about its future. We'll see
While I was mildly okay with the chibi style for the New teen titans shorts in DCNation this new Johnny Test style Chibi they are using for TTGo seems... bad.
I don't have high hopes. But frankly, many of these shows look pretty terrible before we see them.
I mean, recently. Green lantern looked like complete ass.
Brave and the bold looked bad. and takes 4-5 episodes to get into it.
Young Justice LOOKED good. but the writing was shit in season1.
hell, My Little Pony. Absolutely no one, thought this was going to be as thoroughly well made as it was.
Step back, and. The Batman. looked good. was ok.
Static shock. Ok, I didnt like it, but someone must have.
Batman Beyond. looked bad. but holds up pretty damn good.
Judging before we see it for real, is a bad idea.
Last Sunday, my daughter and I settled in to watch the final episodes of Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series while enjoying a leisurely breakfast. It’s become a bit of a tradition to catch up on the latest adventures of Razer & Aya (her favorite GL characters) and the newest twists and turns in Artemis and Aqualad’s dangerous subterfuge while munching on a bagel or some oatmeal. I’d been preparing her for quite a while for the unfortunate end of both of her favorite shows, so, after giving her the proverbial two-minute warning that after today, there will be no more new cartoons starring these characters, we fired up the DVR and clicked play.
We made it through Aya’s redemption and eventual demise rather well – better than I’d have expected, to be quite honest. She was a thrown a bit by Razer flying off into the stars in search of the love of his life, but she was able to accept that his story was one we’re unlikely to see since he’s a Red Lantern and the series is called Green Lantern. “Maybe we’ll get a Red Lantern and Aya series, daddy.” “Maybe, hon – you never know!” Now it was time for Young Justice.
A little background: My daughter adores this cartoon. She loves plenty of other shows – Sesame Street (still!!), My Little Pony, Teen Titans, Go! – but the junior Justice League, Artemis especially, have taken up permanent residence in her heart. She spent her own money on the super-fancy Artemis action figure – the only female character we could find in toy form – and she now stands watch over her bedroom. Most seven-year old girls want pretty princesses or Justing Bieber-themed birthday parties. My daughter insisted on a Young Justice cake, which required much Google image searching since the franchise seems to have never been licensed for party supplies. Simply put, she loves her superheroes, and the YJ kids are the best.
So, we sit back and enjoy the last stand of the heroes of Earth as they unite against the Reach, aided by the treacherous villains of the Light. My daughter responds to Artemis and Wally West’s romantic kiss in Paris with the requisite “BLECH!!!” She asks why Lex Luthor is helping Young Justice when he’s a bad guy. She forgets she has a mouthful of waffle for a full two minutes during Wally’s heroic death sequence, nearly tearing up when Artemis is told of his sacrifice.
And then we come to the final scene, the big reveal that Vandal Savage has steered War World straight to the fiery pits of Apokalips to strike up an alliance with Darkseid. That’s when the wheels came off the bus.
“You’re wrong, daddy. This isn’t the last Young Justice.”
“I’m afraid it is, Sienny.”
“But that’s DARKSEID! They have to fight Darkseid! I saw him in my books. He’s a bad guy! And it said on the TV that it was a new episode!”
After explaining that the “All-New” bug in the corner of the screen was for the episode we just watched, a conversation that took several minutes because she was convinced – CONVINCED – that I was 110% wrong about the future of her “faaaaavrit” show, she eventually came around to the sad reality that Cartoon Network had taken it off the air.
“Can I write them a letter and ask them please, please, pleeeeease to make more?”
“Of course you can, hon. And yes, we can mail it to them.”
“Can you put it in the computer for them to see, too?”
Absolutely. So, here it is, Cartoon Network. A letter from my daughter, the biggest Young Justice fan I know.
you, my friend, have raised a winner. my daughter is 3 months old and i'm utterly convinced she's going to be a primadonna. and that's okay... except i need me a little girl to sit down and watch superhero cartoons with. i literally shook when you reminded me about girls liking justin beiber... "oh... right... i'm going to have to deal with THAT..."
also, i love the wonder woman pj's
That's not my kid, my seven year old wears a Supergirl outfit. But she feels the same. And yes, all little girls love Justin Bieber.
little bird said dc executives are meeting with the group organizing the petition to bring the shows back, some time in april. the real fucked up part is they want us to kickstart the fucking show
Given the success Veronica Mars just had with that, it could be a great way of letting people literally vote with their wallets.
maybe sorta related
Bruce Timm, the man behind a generation's concept of animated DC Comics characters, has stepped down from his role as supervising producer for Warner Bros. Animation's DC DVDs.
He is still going to be a Warner Bros. developing his own projects. a little hope we could get a good series, but most likely not.
or Better yet.
Cartoon network and Netflix signed a deal.
Batman Brave and the bold, Batman beyond, Justice League, Metalocolypse, Dexters Lab, Samurai Jack, adventure time(season 1), and so on,(way more then Im going to list) are all now on Netflix instant watch.
Yeah all the adult seim will be on there plus dexters pab cow and chicken and john bravo
Oh sweet merciful Xenu... what have they done.
Having seen the first episode, it is much better than I was expecting. The gag with Raven being a fan of My Little Pony (which Tara Strong also does the voice of Twilight Sparkle) was pretty epic just because you would never expect Raven of all people to watch something like that.
Finally finished Young Justice. I really hope they figure out a way to bring it back. It was a really well-done show.
